One of the most common activator product I get asked about is Vitamin A (commonly known as Retinol). When used correctly, it is a powerhouse for improving skin texture, stimulating collagen, softening fine lines, and even managing breakouts.

If I were to recommend just one product for everyone, it would be SPF.

Daily SPF protects the skin from harmful UV damage, which contributes massively to premature aging and an overall decline in skin health. It is the most important step in any skincare routine.

Ahh trends. You gotta love them and hate them at the same time.

As an aesthetic practitioner, I have had some patients come to me requesting a treatment they’ve seen on social media, or what they’ve seen trending online. That’s totally understandable- I don’t mind being asked about treatments that are trending. But sometimes a trending treatment (remember the “snatched jawline” “fox eyes” and “buccal fat removal”) may look great, but these trends often go as quickly as they show up. There’s many reasons for this. It doesn’t suit everyone. The results are unrealistic. The images are not real. Long term it can have more of a negative impact on your facial features (buccal fat removal- terribly ageing long term!)

This is why it’s important to see someone who is experienced.

Who does regular training on up to date, evidence based treatments.

Who doesn’t follow trends.

Who has an eye for detail.

Who thinks of long term results, rather than short term gain.

Who has your best interest first.

Who recommends treatments based on assessing you, your beautiful unique features, and tailors the treatment to harmonise your appearance.
