🥕 SEPTEMBER IS SNACK-TEMBER! 🍎
The new school year is the perfect time to take a closer look at what goes into your child’s lunchbox — because everyday snack choices can have a lasting effect on their teeth.
Sugary, sticky and acidic snacks or drinks expose teeth to repeated acid attacks throughout the day. Over time, this can weaken the enamel and increase the risk of tooth decay. It is not only the amount of sugar that matters, but also how frequently it is consumed.
Simple, tooth-friendly choices can make a real difference:
🧀 Cheese and plain yoghurt
🥕 Carrot and cucumber sticks
🍎 Fresh fruit
🥪 Wholegrain snacks
💧 Water instead of sugary or fizzy drinks
Healthy snacks, twice-daily brushing with fluoride toothpaste and regular dental examinations all help children build strong habits for life.
Snack-tember is not about banning every treat. It is about making smarter everyday choices and keeping sugary snacks to mealtimes whenever possible.
Good choices today can mean healthier, stronger smiles tomorrow. 💙
