Waves of Stillness 🌊
What if stillness isn’t something we have to find?
What if it’s already here - underneath all the movement - when we stop resisting what is?
This year was my fourth time at Buddhafield Festival, whose theme was Waves of Stillness.
Once again, I had the privilege of offering one-to-one shamanic sound journeys with the Old Wise Earth gong, weaving in beautiful earth medicine from the Shamanic wisdom traditions, and meeting so many extraordinary people who carry the Dharma not simply as a teaching, but in the way they live and meet one another.
There is something deeply heart-centred about Buddhafield. A feeling of presence, community and practice woven through the whole festival.
And this year brought another beautiful moment.
Together with my colleague , I stepped onto the Padma stage to open the programme - a stage where, over the years, I’ve sat in the audience and witnessed so many wonderful teachers, musicians and performers.
To find myself standing there this time felt like another small wave in a much bigger journey. A reminder of what can unfold when we keep showing up, doing the work we love and allowing our path to reveal itself as we walk it.
Perhaps that is part of the teaching of Waves of Stillness.
Life doesn’t have to become still for us to experience stillness.
There will always be movement, change uncertainty, joy, grief, beginnings and endings.
The invitation is to meet this wave.
To be with what is actually here.
And perhaps, underneath it all, discover that stillness was never somewhere else.
Where are you being invited to stop resisting what is - and meet the wave you’re actually in? 🌊
