When did you last eat lunch without doing something else at the same time?🤔

Not scrolling. Not checking notes. Not planning the afternoon. Just eating.

Your nervous system needs a genuine break during the day - not a shorter version of work. ⏸️

When you eat while working, your body stays in threat mode. Your digestion suffers. Your cortisol stays elevated. You never actually recover.

One lunch break. Away from the screen. Away from the surgery if you can.

That is a mental health action. That is self-compassion in the most practical form possible.

It sounds so simple it shouldn't need saying. And yet most professionals haven't done it in years.

This Mental Health Awareness Week - just eat. 💛

N.O.U.R.I.S.H. on 11 July is built around exactly this - making the simple things actually happen. A few places remaining. 🌿

Every difficult patient or meeting. Every moment you stayed professional when you wanted to scream. Every time you braced yourself and kept going.
It's all stored - in your nervous system, your muscles, your breath.

Between patients or meetings, squeeze your fists tight. Hold for 5 seconds. Keep Breathing. Release. Do this 3 times.

That's it. That's the whole thing.

Your nervous system stores tension - in your jaw, your shoulders, your hands without you even noticing. This tiny act releases it. Immediately.

Thinking you don’thave time for long wellbeing routines well... You need 5 seconds and the willingness to let your body discharge what it's been carrying.

Try it once this week. Just once.

Mental Health Awareness Week is about recognising what's real. This is real. And it works.

Five years in and motherhood continues to be my greatest teacher - and my most humbling one.

I work in the space of wellbeing and self-compassion. I talk about nervous system regulation, about rest, about treating yourself with the same kindness you offer others.
And then motherhood arrived and said -yes, but can you actually live it?

It put my knowledge and my practice to the test in a way nothing else has. And it taught me - slowly, imperfectly - that self-compassion isn't something you achieve. It's something you return to. Again and again. Especially on the hard days.

As we head into Mental Health Awareness Week - this feels worth saying out loud.
You cannot pour from an empty cup. And learning to fill yours is not weakness. It is wisdom.

If you are a professional, dentist or mother (or all three) ready to invest in that foundation - I would love to support you. Whether through one-to-one mentoring, or the warmth of Dental Wellbeing Hub community , or N.O.U.R.I.S.H. on 11 July - a one-day intensive for just 12 dental professionals ready to build something sustainable from the inside out. 🌱

Something I wrote - and something I see every week

Burnout rarely announces itself. It seeps in quietly. Persistent fatigue. Emotional flatness. Going through the motions while everything on the outside looks completely fine.

The problem isn't awareness of stress. Most of us are very aware.

The problem is that we were never taught how to navigate it.

My latest article in this month's Yoga Magazine explores burnout as a nervous system experience- and offers six simple rituals that don't require a complete life overhaul. Just a willingness to pause with intention.

And if you're ready to go deeper - N.O.U.R.I.S.H is a one-day intensive built specifically for dental professionals who are tired of just getting through the day.

If N.O.U.R.I.S.H feels like what your nervous system has been asking for - I'd love for you to join me for the next one.

You took the time off. You tried to be present. You told yourself this break would be different.

And yet here you are - back in clinic, just as tired as before you left. Carrying the same weight, plus a quiet guilt that you somehow wasted the rest you so desperately needed.

Here's what I want you to know: that's not a you problem. That's a nervous system that never received the signal it was safe to stop.

This Stress Awareness Month I'm sharing everything I know about why dental professionals struggle to truly rest and what we can do about it. Swipe to read the full post. 💛

If you're ready to go deeper than tips and actually change the pattern - N.O.U.R.I.S.H. on 11 July is a one-day intensive for 12 dental professionals ready to do exactly that.

You are excellent at your job.

And you are exhausted.

Not because you're doing it wrong. But because no one told you that carrying this much - professionally, personally, quietly - has a cost. And your body has been keeping score.

I was recently featured in Stylist magazine talking about exactly this -the six signs your mental load is showing up in your body. The depletion that rest doesn't fix. The bugs you keep catching. The feeling that you're running on something finer and finer. So many women recognised themselves in that piece, and it stayed with me.

Because awareness is only the beginning.

The real question is - how do you navigate this within the life you actually have? Without doing less. Without lowering your standards. Without giving anything else up.

That's exactly what I work on with women in my one-to-one wellbeing mentorship - understanding your stress response, learning to work with your nervous system, and building a way of living and working that doesn't cost you everything.

Practical. Personal. Rooted in neuroscience and real compassion.

If you've been nodding while reading this - let's talk. 💛

Spent the day hosting a wellbeing session for the amazing women at in honour and celebrations of upcoming International Women’s Day.

We connected with the power of the breath, somatic movements and sound. The feedback filled me with so much gratitude. Thankyou team SBI UK for inviting me.

It's TIME TO TALK!! 🗣

Behind professional titles and polished smiles, many of us are navigating stress, self-doubt, and burnout - especially within dentistry and other high-pressure careers.

As a South Asian immigrant, woman, and a dental professional featured on BBC Radio London this week, it felt like representation for many of us who quietly carry pressure while appearing “fine” on the outside. It highlighted how important it is to normalise conversations about wellbeing. Mental health is still a taboo topic in many of our communities, yet silence rarely leads to support.

Strength is not pretending everything is fine.

Strength is allowing honest conversation.

And this Time to Talk day I want to invite these conversations.

To support this, I offer a free 20-minute call to anyone who simply wants space to talk and explore support. If you or someone you know who may need this please reach out (via the link in bio), spread the word and invite normalising having difficult conversations.

It’s time to talk - and just as importantly, it’s time to listen.

Sometimes the first step isn’t solving everything.
It’s allowing yourself to be heard in a non-judgemental space.
