A few months ago, this was just an idea.

A feeling.
A “what if”.
A note scribbled down between classes.

And now I’m here, slowly bringing it to life 🤍

Preparing a calm space where parents and babies can:✨ connect✨ move✨ slow down✨ feel supported

I always say it’s not just about the room itself.
It’s about how it feels to walk into it.

And I want Ilkley families to feel instantly:🌿 welcome🌿 held🌿 able to breathe
If you’re interested in Ilkley baby yoga, send me a message or join the waiting list.
💬Would you come to a baby class in Ilkley?

One thing that often comes up in class is transitions.

Moving from one thing to another.Ending play.Leaving the house.Getting ready for naps.

And for many babies, that shift can feel big.

One simple thing that can really help is creating a consistent “bridge” between activities:
✨ a repeated phrase (“now we’re going to…”)✨ a familiar song✨ slowing your own movements down first✨ eye contact and soft reassurance before moving on

It doesn’t need to be complicated.
It just needs to feel predictable and calm 🤍

Over time, these small rituals can really support regulation, and often help parents feel calmer too.
💾 Save this for those moments when transitions feel tricky.
💬Which transition in your day feels the hardest right now?

One of the biggest misconceptions about parenting is that if we just find the right answer, everything will feel easier.

But sometimes the challenge isn’t a lack of effort.

It’s carrying the emotional weight of watching your baby struggle.

If your baby seems uncomfortable, unsettled, or difficult to soothe, I want you to know this:

You are not failing.

You are parenting through a hard season.

And that deserves compassion, not criticism.

🔗If you’d like a gentle place to start, my free guide is linked in my bio 🤍

A conversation started in class recently that had nothing to do with babies.

Not sleep.
Not feeding.
Not milestones.

Loneliness.

One parent mentioned feeling isolated.
Then another agreed.
Then another.
And suddenly a room full of parents realised they weren’t alone in feeling that way.

It reminded me how powerful honest conversations can be.

Because so often we assume everyone else is managing better.

That everyone else is coping.
That everyone else has found their people.

But many parents are quietly carrying the same worries.

So today’s post is simply an invitation.

No advice.
No fixing.
Just honesty.

Use this space however you need to today.

💬What’s something about parenthood that nobody talks about enough?

💛 Walking into a new baby class for the first time can feel daunting…

Many parents tell me they were nervous before coming along. Would they know anyone? What if their baby cried? What if they felt out of place?

Then I receive messages like this.

Creating a warm, judgement-free space is one of the most important parts of my classes. Whether your baby sleeps through the session, needs feeding, cries, or wants extra cuddles, you’re always welcome exactly as you are.

Because baby classes aren’t just about learning massage or yoga techniques, they’re about connection, confidence, support, and finding your village during those early parenting days. ✨

If you’re looking for a gentle, welcoming space to spend time with your baby and meet other parents, I’d love to welcome you along.

💬 Have you attended one of my classes? I’d love to hear what made you feel welcome.

Have you ever looked around and thought everyone else is coping better than you?
Here’s the truth…you’re seeing their outside, not their inside.
A parent once said to me after class:“I think everyone else has it together except me.”

And I hear this more often than you might think.

But what’s happening in that moment is comparison; not truth.

One parent might be smiling in a moment of calm, but you don’t know that they’ve been up since 2am.
Another baby might be settled in class, but they’re going through a tricky phase at home.
While one person looks confident, they’re quietly wondering the exact same thing as you.

Most parents are not “coping better”.

One of the most powerful things about baby classes is this gentle realisation…you’re not the only one finding it hard.

You’re not behind. You’re not doing it wrong. You’re just in it…like everyone else 🤍
➡️ If you’ve been waiting to feel more confident before joining a class, this is your reminder that you’re already welcome.
💬Have you ever realised another parent was feeling the same way as you?

A parent said something to me recently that stayed with me:

“I’ll rest when I’ve caught up.”

And I think so many of us live in that place without even realising it 🤍

There’s always something:a load of washinga bottle to cleana message to reply toa mental list running in the background

So rest gets pushed further and further down the list.

But here’s the truth:

Rest isn’t something you get after everything is done.
It’s something your body and mind need while you’re doing it all 🌿

And rest doesn’t have to be big or dramatic.

Sometimes it looks like:✨ sitting down for five minutes without multitasking✨ stepping outside for fresh air✨ letting one thing wait until tomorrow✨ drinking your tea while it’s still warm

These small pauses matter more than we realise.

Because they help you show up with a little more softness for yourself and your baby.
Today, choose one small moment of rest and let yourself actually have it…without guilt.
💬Do you find it hard to rest when there’s still so much to do?

A few months ago, I found myself thinking a lot about the same thing:

How can more parents feel supported locally? How can more families find calm in their week? How can this community gently grow without losing its heart?

And that’s where this next little chapter began 🤍

Birch Holistics has always been about creating calm, welcoming spaces for parents and babies; not rushed, not pressured, just supported.

Spaces where you can:✨ slow down✨ connect with your baby✨ meet other parents✨ feel a little more like yourself again

And now, something is beginning to grow in Ilkley 🌿

Not a big announcement.
Not a loud reveal.

Just something gentle, thoughtful, and really meaningful.

If you’re local to Ilkley, you might want to keep an eye on this space over the next couple of weeks…
If you’d like to be first to hear what’s coming, send me a 💚 or message me “ILKLEY”
💬Are you local to Ilkley or the surrounding areas?
