Today, I traded emails, phone calls, notifications, and endless to-do lists for seashells, ocean waves, and a little time with myself.
As I wandered along the beach collecting shells, I was reminded that not everything needs an immediate response. Sometimes the most productive thing we can do is disconnect from the noise and reconnect with ourselves.
In a world that expects us to be available 24/7, taking time out isn't a luxury—it's essential. Disconnecting allows the mind to rest, the nervous system to reset, creativity to return, and the soul to breathe. Even a few hours away from screens, emails, and demands can make a huge difference.
I believe we should all make space to completely switch off regularly—whether that's a few hours each week, a full day each month, or a longer retreat a few times a year. The world will keep turning, but your wellbeing deserves your attention too.
Today, I'm choosing the sound of the sea over the sound of notifications.
