**Sad post alert **
Not long after it started to actually sink in that we are losing our favourite local, spiritual home and sauce kitchen the The Prince Albert (we have been stocking up on sauce to get us through to 2027 hopefully)
**- and a huge thank you to Zoe and Phil for saving Ferm Believers by letting me come in and use the kitchen. **
But then had to unexpectedly say goodbye to my best friend and best dog in the world, turns out his heart had essentially just grown too big.
(I could have told you that without an Xray!)
A little bit about him, mostly for my sake really:
He flew through an assessment to officially become a therapy dog in his younger years, with a natural talent for reading a room to snuggle with whoever needed him the most (weighed up against who might be most likely to give him a treat or a tickle) and a bizarrely intuitive emotional intelligence, without any sort of training.
He would follow me around like a shadow. You couldn't sit down for more than a few seconds before he would clamber onto your lap, flop his head on your chest or find some way to squeeze in against you, getting as much of his body in contact as he possibly could with you.
I've never met anyone who didn't love him and he even helped a couple of people we know overcome a fear of dogs, he also gave comfort to some people starting to approach the end of their own lives when he went out working a few times as a therapy dog.
Anyway, I get it, you're here for the hot sauce, I just wanted to share a little about our familys' most special little guy and most productive Ferm Believers employee doing all the heavy work of being my therapist, confidante, labelling overseer and top model - nowhere near the kitchen side of things don't worry!
Needless to say I am absolutely gutted and now paying the true price of having had such a wonderful friend, which is exactly £💔 + compounding interest.
Sorely missed doesn't even begin to cover it.
I love you boy.
