Many parents in the UK stop breastfeeding before they planned to, often because feeding in public can feel uncomfortable or unsupported.

🌍💚 World Breastfeeding Week | 1–7 August

This year's theme is "Breastfeeding for a Sustainable Start in Life: Strengthen What Works."

At the Camden Baby Feeding Team, we know that breastfeeding works best when families have the support they need. Whether that's a chat with one of our infant feeding practitioners, support from our wonderful peer supporter volunteers, or accessing information through the Anya app, help is available every step of the way when parents need it.

As a UNICEF Baby Friendly accredited service, we're committed to providing evidence-based, compassionate support that helps families make informed decisions about feeding and building close, loving relationships with their babies.

We're also proud to be part of Camden's Breastfeeding Friendly Scheme, working with local businesses and community spaces to make it easier for parents to feed their babies comfortably and confidently when they're out and about.

This World Breastfeeding Week, we're celebrating the families, volunteers, professionals and communities who help make breastfeeding support accessible across Camden.

☀️ The summer holidays are in full swing!
We hope everyone is enjoying the break and managing to stay cool in the hot weather.

Please note that our Nurture and Nourish session at Regent's Park is taking a summer break and will return on Thursday 3 September.

All other drop-in sessions will continue as usual.

During the current heatwave, breastfed babies may want to feed more often—this is normal and helps them stay well hydrated, as breastmilk provides all the fluid they need, even in hot weather. Watch your baby’s cues and offer the breast frequently (responsive feeding), and remember that babies under six months do not need additional water.
