The last thing I wanted was to go for a walk….so I forced myself
Standing in the trees with my dog I had to remind myself that being neurodivergent takes a lot of self compassion and grit
And a hell of a lot of patience (which most of us are short on)
Learning new things can be hard
Being forced to fit into a neurotypical world with a neurodivergent brain is tough. So many of us are having to adapt to ways that just make zero sense, with very little understanding from the other side
Constant pressures to fit in, be ‘normal’ and just suck it up
To all of us who are just about hanging on and sucking everything up day after day after day
We need to just stop. Full stop
I don’t think we talk about this enough as it makes so many people around us feel uncomfortable. I don’t know how much longer we can remain silent
A revolution is needed in our homes, our places of work, our daily lives. We need to stop trying to bend our brains to fit into spaces that give us zero consideration
We deserve so much more and think it’s about time we start demanding better. Fx
