It’s Alzheimer’s Awareness Month, and this week on No Care Jargon, Honest Conversations, we wanted to tackle an important question: What is sundowning? 💙

Candice explains what sundowning is and why someone living with dementia may become more confused or unsettled later in the day.

Have you heard of sundowning before? Let us know below!

This is amazing!!

🎉WE DID IT! We’ve reached our Big Give pledging target of £5,000! 🎉

We are so excited to have reached this milestone and we couldn’t have done it without you.

A huge thank you to everyone who has pledged their support and helped us spread the word. Your generosity has unlocked something incredibly valuable…

During the public Big Give Christmas Challenge (1–8 December), donations to our campaign will now be matched! This means any amount given will be doubled, helping us make an even bigger difference for carers across Kingston.

A very special thank you to our most recent pledgers:
- Surbiton Rotary Club
- The Accessibility Support Team at Kings Church Chessington
- Visiting Angels West London

We’ll be back in touch in December with all the details on how you can donate and help us make the most of this incredible opportunity.

For now, a huge thank you from everyone here at KCN.

Hello September! 🍂☕

A new month is here, bringing cooler days, cosy cups of tea and the start of autumn.

As the seasons begin to change, we’re looking forward to another month of supporting our clients, spending time in our local communities and making everyday moments count. 💙

Here’s to a lovely September from all of us at Visiting Angels!

We’re wrapping up Wellness Month with another No Care Jargon, Honest Conversations! 💙

This week’s question: Can carers cook?

Magda explains how some of our carers are brilliant cooks and take the time to learn about different cultures, favourite meals and the foods their clients enjoy.

It’s been a great month full of learning, events and wellness tips!

What’s one meal you’d love someone to cook for you? Let us know in the comments!

We’re back with another episode of our original No Care Jargon, Honest Conversations series. 💙

As it’s Wellness Month, we wanted to talk about something that affects so many older people: loneliness.

In this episode, Candice shares some simple ways you can help an elderly parent or loved one feel less lonely and bring a little more connection into their everyday life.

What helps your loved one feel more connected? Or is there something from the video you’d like to try? Let us know in the comments!

We’re officially halfway through Wellness Month 🌿

Every Wednesday, we’re sharing a few simple wellness reminders for our caregivers because, when you spend so much of your time looking after others, it’s important to remember to look after yourself too.

This week’s Wellness Wednesday is all about the little things:

- staying hydrated
- getting some fresh air
- eating something nourishing
- connecting with someone and giving yourself permission to rest when you need it 💙

Nothing complicated, just small reminders that can easily be forgotten during a busy day spent caring for others.

Which one are you making time for today?

14/08/2026

This one’s a little different from our usual No Care Jargon, Honest Conversations videos! ✨

Here’s a little snippet from one of our health talks, where Magda shares some really simple ways to stay hydrated and reminds us that staying hydrated doesn’t have to mean drinking glass after glass of plain water.

There are lots of easy ways to make drinking more enjoyable, whether that’s adding fresh fruit, cucumber, mint or anything else that gives your water a bit more flavour. 🍓🍋

And one we absolutely love is Jelly Drops! They’re a brilliant way to help support hydration, particularly for older people who may not always feel thirsty or want to drink much.

A perfect little conversation for Wellness Month. 🌿💙

What do you add to your water to make it a bit more interesting? Let us know in the comments!
