I’ve wanted to do this since I was a teenager.

Not aesthetics specifically. I didn’t even know what that was back then but I knew I loved helping my friends get ready. Doing their hair, their makeup, watching them look in the mirror and light up.

That feeling of someone seeing themselves at their best and being genuinely surprised by it. I loved everything about it.

Fast forward to 2008. I’m a junior doctor and I spot an advert in the British Medical Journal for a course in aesthetics.

18 years later I still feel the same way I did watching my friends get ready as a teenager.

Every patient who sits in my chair and looks in the mirror and sees something that makes them smile. That never gets old.

I genuinely believe I have the best job in the world and I wouldn’t change a single thing. 🤍

Dolly Parton didn’t just entertain us.

She gave us permission. To be loud when the world wanted us quiet, to be feminine and fierce at the same time, to care about how we look without apologising for it. To age on our own terms and find joy in every single year of it.

The world is a little less sparkly today.

She had filler in 2023, it’s now 2026 and she’s only just needed it topping up.

Yesterday my work was featured in the Mail on Sunday

A full page in print, feature online - and honestly I’m still a little bit speechless.

The story was about Sally. And a gummy smile she’d spent years quietly managing. Hiding her smile in photos. Holding back when she laughed. Feeling self conscious about something most people around her never even noticed.

Five minutes of treatment changed that.

A small amount of anti wrinkle injections were placed with precision into the muscle that pulls the lip too high. Just enough to relax it. Never enough to take anything away from her smile. Her confidence came back and that’s the part that stays with me.

This is why I do what I do. Not for features or headlines. For the moments where someone looks in the mirror and finally feels like themselves again.
