As clients return from summer, we often see the same pattern: a return to training at exactly the same intensity as before the break.

Conditioning and load tolerance can change surprisingly quickly during periods of reduced or altered activity.

Many training related injuries occur when the demands placed on the body increase faster than its capacity to adapt. It is rarely simply bad luck, more often a question of load, recovery and timing.

Taking a week or two to progressively rebuild your training base can make a significant difference.

As September draws closer, we’re starting to welcome back lots of clients after summers away.

There’s something about this time of year that always feels like a natural reset. Getting back into training, returning to routines, and finding the time to focus on the things that may have been put to one side over the summer.

We’ve always been particular about the spaces we work from. Somewhere that feels calm and considered, while still allowing us to do the detailed clinical work we’re there to do.

Looking forward to a busy September at Flow.

Most problems don’t build from a lack of awareness. They build because there’s never time to stop.

That’s why we work closely with hedge funds and businesses across London, providing access to physiotherapy before a manageable issue starts costing you training, travel, sleep or work.

Sometimes the best intervention isn’t treatment.

It’s timing.

Particularly over the summer, I’m always reminded just how international our client base at Flow has become.

We have patients travelling all over the world, as well as people coming to see us while they’re in London. It means our work often extends beyond the treatment room: staying in touch while people are away, video consultations, adapting rehabilitation around travel and connecting with the clinicians, trainers and healthcare teams involved in their care.

Over time, we’ve built relationships with clinicians in many of the places our patients regularly travel to, which helps us keep their care connected wherever they happen to be.

It’s a part of what we do that I really value, and something I’ve written a little more about in our latest journal.

‘Healthcare Doesn’t Always Happen in One Place’ now live via the link in bio.

The team behind Flow.

Four physiotherapists, with different clinical backgrounds, areas of expertise and ways of thinking.

What we share is an approach: taking the time to understand the whole picture, being precise about what matters, and making treatment genuinely individual.

Very proud of the team we’re building.

The exercise is only part of the treatment.

The coaching is what brings it to life.

The cues, the adjustments, the timing and the progression are often what make the difference.
