“Every year there’s a new wellness trend promising better health.

Yet after 14 years as a physiotherapist, the things that make the biggest difference are still surprisingly simple:

Strength. Movement. Sleep. Consistency.

The fundamentals haven’t changed.”

“I still come back to hands on work a lot. There’s something about taking the time to actually feel what’s going on rather than jumping straight into a rehab plan. You pick up on things you just don’t get otherwise. How the body is holding? Where it’s a little guarded? What’s actually asking for attention?

It’s never the whole answer… it’s often the starting point.
A way to settle things, understand things and give someone a bit of confidence in their body again.

From there, everything else tends to land better.”

Delighted to contribute to this feature, sharing insight on injury recovery and how our bodies really move. So grateful to Hannah Coates for such a thoughtful conversation as always.

A recent Time article said it perfectly: the shift is happening.
Being “skinny” as we age isn’t the goal, being strong is.

Peter Attia helped bring muscle into the mainstream longevity conversation, reframing strength as a tool for living longer not just looking fitter.

Let’s keep it simple:

Train for your bones. Train for independence. Train for the life you want at 70.

Well… 2025, you really have been a memorable year.

Starting it off camping in Jackson Bay, New Zealand surrounded by dolphins with a wonderful group of friends then onto our honeymoon in Bali. Then straight back to London and back into the job I absolutely love building Flow Physio London.

This year has really been about knitting together what Flow Physio London is about.

The clients. The trust. The network. The collaboration.
Not just injury support, but prevention too.

None of this would work without the incredible Harriet and Dani, who care for our clients with such consistency, intelligence, and warmth.

Flow Physio London has also been featured in some wonderful places, including , and . Being recognised within Spa and Wellness 2025 guide felt particularly significant, thankyou . It reflects a shift in what luxury wellness now means. A more considered focus on longevity, recovery, sleep, and how the body functions day to day. Physiotherapy is no longer a supporting act in this space. It is part of the foundations of a multi disciplinary approach to luxury health and wellness.

Feeling very proud, grateful and very excited for what is coming next.

I have a feeling 2026 is going to be something quite special.

Build a foundation of control then learn to let go.

Motor control creates stability through the nervous system.
It improves joint positioning, force distribution and load tolerance.

Once these systems are established the brain reduces protective tone allowing movement to become more fluid, efficient, and expressive.
