In palliative care, communication is as important as patient therapy or support from the Ministry of Health. Effective information sharing operates on three levels simultaneously:

🔹 with patients and their loved ones—to build trust, deliver difficult news gently, and be a source of support for them.
🔹 within an interdisciplinary team—so that doctors, nurses, psychologists, and social workers function as a single unit, reducing the risk of misunderstandings and burnout.
🔹 with the government and donors—to be able to explain the importance of palliative care, attract funding, and build a sustainable system.

Communication is both a clinical and a managerial skill that can and should be developed. It is not just about words; it is about how you carry yourself, how deeply you understand your work, and how you convey the necessary information to those around you.
