A Week at Trinity Manor Care Home 🏠🧡

Sunshine, coffee, good company and a very special four legged visitor…just another busy week at Trinity Manor.

Residents enjoyed a trip down memory lane, coffee in the sunshine at Minterne House and Gardens, a visit from the adorable therapy dog Libby, a trip to Leweston School and their weekly ‘Chit and Chatter’ group.

It’s all about celebrating life at Barchester, creating a stimulating and fun environment where there’s always something to look forward to and plenty of reasons to simile 😄💚

Chef of the Year Competition 🏆🧑‍🍳

Things got deliciously competition as our divisional Chef of the Year winners Marcin, Mihai, Sam, Symoun and Roshan went head to head with their incredible menus, showing just how utterly talented they all are.

From the photos alone, you can see how brilliant chefs they are and the difference their food makes to mealtimes for our residents and patients 💙

The national winner will be crowed at the Barchester Care Awards in October, good luck to them all!

As always, a big thank you to Unilever for hosting this event and helping us celebrate our wonderful chefs 👏

It’s a fantastic achievement for a team who shows passion and dedication every day, going above and beyond to truly make a difference to the lives of their residents.

Celebrating Archbold’s Story 🧡

The team at Hilton Park Care home went the extra mile to celebrate Archbold and his Zimbabwean heritage.

Jenny, the Activities Coordinator, spoke to Archbold’s son to learn more about his background and things he loves. His room was filled with Zimbabwean flags, and his favourite songs played, with Jenny and Monika dancing traditional attire 💃

Louis from the Housekeeping Team also joined, sharing the same dialect as Archbold and giving them the chance to enjoy a lovely conversation together.

What a wonderful way to celebrate the life of Archbold 👏

101 Years Young! 🎂

Bruce, a resident at Seaview House Care Home, celebrated a very special birthday and the team made sure his 101st was one to remember.

Having joined the Royal Navy at just 17 and served in the Mediterranean and Australia, the team at Seaview House wanted to make sure his day reflected his incredible story.

They reached out to the Royal Navy hoping for a birthday card, but they went one step further with a visit from a representative that gave Bruce with an award with his name on it, along with a 12-year-old bottle of Wolfburn wh***ey 🥃

Then came a fantastic surprise from the Sea Cadets, who built a traditional bell structure for Bruce to ring.

It was a brilliant day with a few special surprises, plenty of memories and, most importantly, a celebration worthy of 101 years.

Spotlight on our…Wood Grange Team! 🌟

We’re spotlighting the incredible Wood Grange Care Home team, who took on a huge 26-mile walk around Rutland Water in support of the Alzheimer's Society.

And if walking 26 miles wasn’t impressive enough, they also raised over £1000 along the way.

For each of them, it was their own personal challenge, but they started together and finished together, and that’s something to be incredibly proud of 💙

It’s International Dog Day, so today we’re celebrating the dogs who make regular visits to our homes.

Our homes are always a little brighter when there’s a wagging tail wandering through the door, and we’re lucky to have so many visitors who love spending time with our residents.
