"Black women experience higher rates of chronic disease and die earlier than our white counterparts, with racism, discrimination and socioeconomic inequalities contributing to these disparities."

But what happens when, alongside these wider inequalities, you don’t feel heard, understood or seen in your own healthcare?

What could be different for you, if you were truly listened to in that area of health you would really love to change?

Wed blog

On a scale of 1–10, how well have you been able to turn the best health advice you’ve recently received into everyday action?

Getting to your goal is not only about the tips & info you receive on how to achieve it but how to make the info work for you each day, when life is busy and life is also life-ing.

A recent white paper from UK & International Health Coaching Association recognised that long-term conditions, workplace ill health, cancer survivorship, mental wellbeing, all require sustained behaviour change and ongoing support that goes beyond traditional healthcare.

The paper is a collaboration of 4 organisations across Australia and New Zealand, Singapore, the United Kingdom, and the United States.

What can you do to make the advice you hear, work for you consistently so you can:
✅️Sleep better
✅️Lose weight and keep it off
✅️Protect your mental & emotional health
✅️Eat less sugar & junk
✅️Keep your gut healthy

And live a healthier happier life🤔🤔🤔?

When someone says, “Make time for yourself,” you laugh or you inwardly really wish you could.

You don’t have the time. And even if you did, you might feel guilty.

“If I sit down, who’s going to do everything else?”

“There’s still so much to do.”

“Other women manage, so why can’t I?”

“My children need me more than I need a break.”

“Mum needs me. Work needs me. Everyone needs me.”

“I can rest when everything else is sorted.”

But what if me-time isn’t a luxury—it’s part of the solution?

If you inwardly really wish you could have me-time, I have an approach that could begin to work for you so you can:

1. Stop running on empty
Me-time gives your mind and body space to recover before exhaustion becomes your normal.

2. Show up as the woman you actually want to be
When you’re constantly giving, you can lose patience, joy and even yourself. Time for you can help you reconnect with who you are beyond your responsibilities.

3. Make other healthy changes easier
Creating space for yourself can become the starting point for better sleep, movement, weight management, stress management, eating habits and boundaries.

You don't need to find an hour tomorrow.

Read the article and set for yourself a realistic place to start
