BIG NEWS 📢

The Government has announced up to £18 million in additional funding for TRANSFORM - recognising the crucial role our trial is playing in shaping the future of prostate cancer screening.

This investment means all eligible Black men aged 45 to 74 will be invited to take part in the trial, significantly increasing participation among men at higher risk.

It comes after the UK National Screening Committee’s final recommendation to screen only men with BRCA2 gene variations who also have a family history of the disease.

That’s why today’s additional funding marks a historic moment.

It will help us continue to generate the evidence needed for a safe, accurate and effective screening programme for all men.

For the first time, the UK National Screening Committee has recommended screening of prostate cancer.

The NSC recommends TARGETED screening to men with a BRCA2 gene mutation who also have a family history of prostate cancer. However, whole population screening is not recommended.
