Such great modern advice! If you're serious about change and transformation in your health, habits, life...
We are often so limited in healing by what we believe is possible.
If you've never really tried alternatives, tried private medicine and just see the nhs, the bar for results in musculoskeletal medicine can look very low..
I'm very lucky to have trained with, worked with, been worked on and learnt from such amazing, talented people.
It's a privilege to have that awareness of what's actually possible.
And knowing ease and gentleness can be so powerful. What's really needed for change in our health outcomes and future.
Let me know if Joanne's words resonate or you put them into action..
The Laws of Learning and Keys to Change.
For something to be different tomorrow to what it is today requires learning, and through learning, change.
The principles are simple, but not easy.
1. Own where you are without judgement. (This is acceptance).
2. Clarify your intention (This is priming).
3. Replace self-criticism with curiosity. (This is commitment to change).
4. Find the easy. (This is releasing the narrative of virtuous struggle).
Repeat.
Resistance to these principles can keep you right where you are, no matter how much energy and effort you invest.
I see this resistance repeatedly with the clients I meet or the professionals I teach, and witness the stories of smallness, wrongness, blockedness or brokenness that it feeds.
But just as often, I witness the beauty of change that happens when a person decides to face their resistance and embrace the 4 laws and keys.
Can you feel a resistance to one or more of these?
It makes for interesting reflection.
I wonder if this week, we might challenge ourselves to exploring one of the principles to see what learning may emerge?
