If you’re buying an omega-3 supplement, please read this first 👇
Most people are wasting their money and don’t even know it. Here’s what to actually look for:
Dark bottle or blister pack 🫙
Omega-3 is incredibly prone to going rancid when exposed to light and air. If it comes in a clear bottle, put it back. Blister packs are actually the gold standard because every capsule stays protected until the moment you take it — this is exactly why I trust
Check the EPA and DHA levels 🔬
The total fish oil amount on the front means nothing. Flip it over and look for EPA and DHA specifically — these are the active omega-3 fatty acids that actually do the work. Anti-inflammatory, brain health, heart health, mood. You want a meaningful dose, not a capsule that’s mostly filler oil.
Triglyceride vs ethyl ester form ⚗️
Triglyceride form is absorbed significantly better by the body. Most cheap supplements use ethyl ester form because it’s cheaper to produce. Always worth checking.
Sustainability 🌊
Look for IFOS certification or MSC accredited sourcing. Not just for the planet — sustainably sourced fish tends to mean cleaner, purer oil with lower heavy metal contamination.
Not all Omega-3s are created equal. The one you’re taking might not be doing what you think it is 👀
