READY. STEADY. GROW. 🌱

One of the greatest gifts of retreat is discovering that growth doesn’t happen alone.

In the forest, trees are connected through vast underground networks, sharing nutrients, support, and information. What appears to be an individual tree is actually part of a thriving ecosystem.

We are not so different.

Over these days together, we softened our edges. We became more flexible. We listened deeply. We called upon Saraswati, the flow of creativity and wisdom, and awakened the Green Dragon within… the part of us willing to transform inspiration into action, vision into substance.

But perhaps the most powerful lesson is this:

You don’t have to grow alone.

Sometimes the bravest thing we can do is allow ourselves to be seen in our becoming.

To let others witness our dreams.

To receive encouragement.

To lean into community when our roots need strengthening.

Growth isn’t always loud. Sometimes it’s subtle. A new insight. A different perspective. A quiet commitment to yourself.

Like a seed beneath the soil, much of what is transforming may not yet be visible.

Trust it.

The tapestry of you is still being woven.

And just as every thread strengthens the whole, every person who walks beside us becomes part of our journey.

✨ What intention, dream, or seed are you ready to nurture as you move forward?

🧘‍♀️ Such a privilege to spend the day studying with Donna Farhi today in London. She’s has been one of my “girl crush” teachers for many years. What an incredible human.

We explored human development and movement patterning - particularly through the psoas, lumbar, thoracic and cervical spine, the impact of the hyoid bone, and the nuance required to help people move towards tension-free upper backs and necks. Such a complex challenge in the modern world, when so many of us spend our lives folded over phones and laptops.

One of my biggest takeaways was that the spine doesn’t simply need passive extension. Passive extension may temporarily release tension, but it doesn’t necessarily resolve it. The upper back also needs strength - especially through the thoracic region - because if that area isn’t truly supporting us, the tension simply returns.

So much of the work is about strengthening the shoulders and upper back while also creating strategic length and passive extension through the thoracic and cervical spine. Learning how to release and elongate without continuing to over-mobilise the places already carrying too much movement - particularly the lumbar spine.

As a teacher, it also made me reflect deeply on sequencing. Rather than always beginning with sun salutations and repetitive sagittal-plane movement that can reinforce flexion and extension patterns in already mobile areas, there’s so much value in exploring the transverse and horizontal planes first - creating space, awareness and support before asking the body to move more deeply.

And perhaps the most beautiful reminder of all: whenever we hold rigidity in the body, we inhibit the flow of breath, prana, chi, ki … whatever language resonates most. Even in stronger asana, there has to be yielding. Whether in Warrior I or a restorative cervical extension, we have to learn how to soften while we strengthen.

A day full of nuance, curiosity and reminders that intelligent movement is never just about stretching more … it’s about supporting the body to move and breathe with greater ease. ✨

Three powerful charms around my neck to infuse the start of the YTT this weekend with love. What is the power of 3 all about?

Trika 🕉️ the “threefold” heart of Kashmir Shaivism
teaches that all existence is a sacred union of:✨ Śiva (pure consciousness) ✨ Śakti (divine creative energy) ✨ Aṇu (the individual soul)

Its wisdom reminds us that we are not separate from the Divine… we are expressions of it.

At the core of Trika is Pratyabhijñā… the path of “re-cognition”: not becoming something new, but remembering who we truly are. 💫

Through the triads of:🔺 Will (Icchā)🔺 Knowledge (Jñāna)🔺 Action (Kriyā)

Trika shows that ‘enlightenment’ is not found by escaping life, but by fully awakening within it.

No renunciation…Trika is embodiment…. the body, emotions, senses, and everyday experience become gateways to consciousness itself. The world is not an illusion to reject, but Śiva’s divine play (līlā) to recognise and celebrate. 🌺

In the vision of Trika:🕉️ Everything is Consciousness.🕉️ Everything is Sacred.🕉️ Everything is Śiva.

We spoke a lot about COMMUNITY last week in Italy, and something that stayed with me is how many people shared the same feeling:

They go to class…They don’t speak to anyone…And then they leave.

No connection. No sense of belonging. Just movement in a room full of strangers.

Community isn’t built through aesthetics. Not through perfect studios, branding, or the latest equipment.

It’s cultivated through something much deeper.

Traditionally, these practices were never meant to exist in isolation. They lived within community … spaces guided by those who had committed themselves to a genuine spiritual discipline. Not “masters” in the hierarchical sense, but individuals who had devoted themselves to mastering their own inner world.

And importantly — these weren’t exclusive, unreachable paths.

Ta***ic practitioners were not removed from everyday life. They were householders. People with jobs, families, responsibilities - just like us.

They gathered in kula - communities that dissolved divisions of caste, class, and gender. Spaces rooted in inclusivity, shared practice, and a life-affirming path.

This is where real community lives.

Not in exclusivity. Not in performance. But in spaces that welcome all beings.

Spaces where it doesn’t matter: how much money you have, what you look like, or how your body moves.

Spaces where people feel seen, held, and connected.

Because without that - without teacher, practice, and community - something essential is missing.

If we want community to thrive again, we have to return to this: creating spaces where everyone belongs.

Śāmbhava Upāya ✨

After almost 3 decades of spiritual practice, I can feel this quiet readiness living within me — not as something achieved, but as something revealed. 🔱

Śāmbhava Upāya is not about doing more. It is about being available… resting in icchā (will), in pure awareness, in the pause between breaths where Śiva is known directly. It is a direct path in Shaivism representing a support-less state of effortless awareness.

My mornings on retreat begin like this… 🧘‍♀️
a gentle preparation of space,
then a preparation of self.

Clearing, aligning, softening … not to “teach,” but to arrive.
To prepare my presence so that it can meet my students fully, openly, and without separation.

It is my deepest intention not to give something to my students, but to help awaken this same readiness within them
👇
this natural state of recognition that has always been theirs.
👇
From effort… to ease.
From seeking… to seeing.
From practice… to presence.

✨ Acupuncture Point Series : Stomach 12 (ST12) | “Broken Bowl” (Que Pen)

Have you ever felt like no matter what you receive… it’s never quite enough?

In Chinese medicine, ST12 is known as the “Broken Bowl” … a powerful point where multiple energy pathways meet. It reflects the feeling of being unable to hold onto nourishment, whether that’s physical, emotional, or spiritual.

When this space feels “cracked,” we may experience:
🖤 A sense of emptiness or lack
🖤 Feeling disconnected or depleted
🖤 being unable to contain and integrate sustenance

But here’s the beauty… this point is also where repair begins.

💫 ST12 helps restore your ability to RECEIVE.
Like gently mending a fractured vessel, it supports wholeness, fullness, and deep nourishment from life itself.

🌀 Try this:
Using your fingertips, apply gentle circular pressure just above the collarbone (midway along it). Breathe slowly and imagine your inner “bowl” becoming whole again. Stay here for 30 seconds to 3 minutes.

With practice, you may notice:
• A deeper sense of being soothes
• Greater ease in receiving
• A quieting of that “never enough” feeling

Sometimes, healing isn’t about getting more… it’s about finally being able to hold what’s already here.

Feel amazing ✨

Each of us is not separate, but a unique vantage point within one unbroken field of awareness.

… this is the non-dual Saiva Ta***ic view and is really the only logical view of reality.

What we call “self” is simply a localised expression of something vast, continuous, and indivisible. If ‘we’ consciousness were truly fragmented … isolated into separate islands… we wouldn’t be able to share meaning, communicate, or even agree on a universe. The very coherence of reality points to an underlying unity.

This isn’t something we can intellectually grasp. It’s not a theory to believe, it is truth through embodiment. Through deep reflection, presence, and inner experience, the illusion of separation begins to soften… and what remains is a quiet recognition:

Only one thing is truly here.

Being itself - limitless, formless, and whole - appearing as all things.

🖤 Blessings of love

If I had £10 for every time someone told me “I can’t do yoga, I’m not flexible enough”… 👀

Here’s the truth: yoga was never about touching your toes.

It’s about strength.
Deep, intelligent, stabilising strength.
The kind that supports your joints, your posture, your movement — your whole body.

Yes, yoga can build flexibility… but that’s just one small piece of the puzzle.

Real yoga is about balance:
✨ Strength + mobility
✨ Effort + ease
✨ Stability + freedom

Because a body that’s only flexible without strength?
That’s not freedom — that’s instability.

So if you’ve been waiting to “get more flexible” before trying yoga… this is your sign to start exactly where you are.

You don’t need to be flexible to begin.
You just need to be willing. 🤍
