I’ve been a little quieter here lately.

Not because the work stopped — quite the opposite.

Much of what I’ve been doing has been happening behind the scenes. In conversations, in sessions, in the kind of deep work that doesn’t always translate neatly onto social media.

But today I attended an International Women’s Day celebration at Fortnum & Mason in Piccadilly, listening to a room full of extraordinary women speak about leadership, courage and what it means to truly take up space.

And it reminded me of something.

Showing up matters.

Not just in the rooms where people applaud you — but in the spaces where your voice, your work and your perspective deserve to be seen.

So this feels like a quiet return here too.

Still doing the work.

Still deeply committed to it.

And perhaps sharing a little more of it along the way.

When there’s a mountain of tasks in front of us, especially when we care deeply about what we’re building, it’s easy to fall into that ‘stuck’ feeling.

Here’s why it happens and what you can do about it.

Our nervous system plays a huge role in how we respond to stress.

When the workload feels intense, the pressure can push our minds and bodies into survival mode, often without us realising it.

Instead of helping us power through, our nervous system can actually ‘freeze’ an automatic response meant to protect us from overwhelm.

It’s common to think that powering through or adding more to the to-do list will help, but often, that only adds to the pressure.

The real way forward?

Calming the nervous system and connecting back to small, achievable actions that help us gain momentum without overloading ourselves.

So, if you’re feeling overwhelmed and frozen in place, remember: it’s not a sign of failure or weakness.

It’s your body asking for a reset.

As an osteopath and somatic coach, I see this daily. Your body holds these patterns of disconnect in:
