Operating Department Practitioners are sometimes called the hidden profession working behind the scenes, out of sight, but never out of mind for the patients they care for.

Like superheroes, our ODPs push everything else aside when it matters most, putting patients first, always. From compassion and calm under pressure to innovation and sustainability in our theatres, they are driving progress every single day.

This ODP Day, we’re proud to shine a light on the heroes at the heart of surgical care across Circle Health Group.

This International Nurses Day, we’re celebrating the power and impact of nursing.

Through their own words and experiences, nurses across Circle Health Group have shared what their roles mean to them from the lives they touch to the difference they make every day.

Empowered Nurses Save Lives, and today we thank our Nurses for their compassion, expertise and unwavering commitment to care.

We’re proud to be named Arthritis UK's first ever Surgery Support Partner of the Year. This year long partnership supports Arthritis Connect, Arthritis UK’s online community that helps people living with arthritis access trusted information, share experiences and connect with others who understand their journey.
Together, we’re working to ensure people with arthritis have better access to support, clearer information about treatment options, and a community at every stage of their care.

Patient safety starts long before treatment begins. It starts with clean hands.

Hear from Fiona, National Lead for Infection Prevention and Control, and Vicky, Director of Clinical Practice and Specialist Services and Professional Lead Nurse, as they explain how our teams take every necessary step to reduce infection risk and maintain the highest standards of patient safety.
Because in healthcare, prevention starts with the simplest actions done consistently, every day.

This Sun Awareness Week, we’re reminding people that UV exposure can affect your skin even when it’s cloudy or doesn’t feel particularly warm. Over time, this exposure can lead to lasting skin damage and increase the risk of skin cancer.

Simple preventative steps can make a meaningful difference, including:
• Using a broad‑spectrum SPF
• Covering up and seeking shade when the sun is strongest
• Avoiding sunbeds
• Checking your skin regularly for any changes

Protecting your skin isn’t about avoiding the sun altogether, it’s about understanding the risks and taking informed steps to look after your long‑term health.
