A 7-Day Juice & Nourishment Protocol for Autoimmune Health, Joint Pain & Mental Wellbeing - By Gia Jon

There’s something I see a lot in my work.

People come in with physical symptoms — joint pain, fatigue, gut issues, flare-ups — and they’ve usually been looking at it purely from a physical angle.

At the same time, they’ll say things like:
“I feel foggy.”
“I’m more anxious than usual.”
“I just don’t feel like myself.”

These things are not separate.

The inflammation sitting in the body…
often sits in the brain too.

This isn’t just a holistic idea. It’s backed by research in psychoneuroimmunology and the gut-brain axis — showing that what’s happening in your immune system and your gut directly affects mood, clarity, and emotional regulation.

So when we talk about supporting the body, we’re also supporting the mind.

This isn’t about perfection or strict rules.
It’s about creating the right conditions for your system to settle.

A Quick Grounding Before You Start
This is not a detox.

You don’t need to starve yourself, cut everything out, or do anything extreme.

This is about:

reducing what’s aggravating your system
supporting your gut and nervous system
keeping things simple and consistent

The juices here are supportive.
They are not replacing meals.

I came across this photo and it made me pause.

I’d got into a small space trying to show my dog how appealing it could be. At the time, it felt harmless. Just a bit of play.

Looking at it afterwards, something stood out. At first I tried to sit in a way that made it work. Then I stopped adjusting and just sat as I normally would.

The mismatch is obvious. I didn’t fit.
It’s a simple image, but it reflects something I see often in both professional and personal environments.

People spend a lot of time trying to make situations work.
They adjust how they speak, how they show up, what they tolerate.
Not always because it’s right, but because it feels easier than questioning the situation itself.
Over time, that adjustment becomes normal. Even if you find it hard to exist in that, what initially felt uncomfortable starts to feel acceptable.

Clarity usually comes later.
When there’s enough distance to see things as they are, rather than how we were trying to make them.

This shows up in teams, leadership environments, and relationships more than people realise.

Fitting is not the same as belonging.

Are you still adjusting yourself to fit something that doesn’t fit you?

Midweek isn’t usually when things slow down.

It’s when the pressure quietly builds.
Deadlines stack up.
Conversations get shorter.
You move from task to task without really pausing.
And without noticing it, your cognitive bandwidth narrows.

You’re still functioning…
but not at your best.

Here’s something simple I often share with clients:

Take 2–3 minutes away from your screen.
Sit back.
Feet on the ground.
Breathe in through your nose for 4…
and out slowly for 6.

Do that 5–6 times.
No performance. No overthinking.
Longer exhales signal safety to the nervous system.

This becomes:

Clearer thinking
Better decision-making
Less reactive communication

Before you go back to work, ask yourself one question:

“What actually needs my attention right now?”

Not everything. Just the next real priority.

You don’t need an hour to reset.
You need a few minutes done properly.

If your week feels like it’s running you instead of the other way round, this is a good place to start.

Not all self-harm is visible.

In professional spaces, we often talk about performance, productivity, and resilience.

What we don’t always see is what people are carrying quietly.
For some, overwhelm doesn’t look like burnout on the surface.

It shows up in more subtle ways:

• shutting down under pressure
• disconnecting from others
• staying in environments that are not supportive
• turning stress inward

These patterns are often misunderstood, or missed entirely.
When people don’t feel safe to express what’s really going on, they find ways to cope.

Not always healthy ones, but ones that make sense in the moment.

There’s a growing need for spaces, even in professional environments, where people can:

regulate
reflect
and be supported without judgement

This is where real sustainability comes from.
