Meet Laura
Laura is our OTNG Sponsorship Representative, she is also an Orthodontic Therapist at Kings College Hospital working within a busy multidisciplinary team alongside her private practice role.
She has a particular interest in professional development, education and supporting the wider orthodontic therapy profession, and regularly contributes to teaching and professional events.

Laura enjoys spending time with her sons and is a devoted cat mum to Misty !!
She loves to travelling, exploring London and discovering good food and restaurants.

She is delighted to be a part of the OTNG community and excited to see the group become a part of the British Orthodontic Society.

Today is World Menopause Day 🧡
Dental teams are full of brilliant women, and many of us are working through perimenopause or menopause right now, while standing for long clinical days, concentrating on fine detail, and looking after anxious patients.
Brain fog, hot flushes, disrupted sleep, joint aches and fatigue don’t clock off when the surgery doors open. Yet so many of us carry on quietly, in masks, loupes and layers of PPE, without saying a word.
It’s time to change that.

What would help dental workplaces?

✔ Open, judgement-free conversations
✔ Flexible breaks and access to water and fresh air
✔ Breathable uniform options
✔ Managers who understand and listen
✔ Peer support so no one feels alone

If you’re going through it, you are not alone, and you are not “just tired”. If you’re a colleague, manager or practice owner, ask the question and make space for the answer.

Let’s make dentistry a profession where everyone feels supported at every stage of life.

Meet Jasmine our OTNG volunteer
Jasmine is currently studying to become an orthodontic therapist at Kettering General Hospital. She fell into dentistry after completing a BSc degree in Sociology with Psychology in 2013. Jasmine has worked in general dentistry, implantology, special care dental nursing and most recently dental public health. Jasmine had an oral health promotion role which involved rolling out the first supervised toothbrushing programme in Northamptonshire.

Jasmine is passionate about orthodontics, oral health promotion, accessible dental care for all and advocating the development of all DCP"s who often feel their voices can't be heard, and their value can't be seen.

Outside of work she loves to spend time with her family, hiking, walking miles, travelling, cooking and baking.

Meet Louise
She is awaiting her results for her orthodontic therapist training course, she started as a dental nurse in 2016, before this she was an Equine Physiotherapist!!
She is also a dental nurse tutor and course lead.
Beside her day job she is a mum to three and also a dog & horse mum too.

Louise has recently got engaged to her partner of five years who is in the military.
