Can balance exercises really “retrain” the nervous system?

There’s growing interest in how the inner ear, proprioception, and the prefrontal cortex are all connected, especially when it comes to focus, regulation, and development.

Simple balance-based movements like standing on one leg or using a balance board are being explored in some programmes for their potential neurological impact.

It’s a fascinating area, particularly in neurodiversity.

Folinic acid is being talked about a lot when it comes to supporting verbal development in some children on the autism spectrum.

Some practitioners report striking differences in progress depending on how well a child tolerates it, even in siblings.

It’s a fascinating and very individual response, and definitely something that sparks debate.

Could gut health be influencing behaviour and focus more than we realise?

This clip touches on the GAPS approach from Natasha Campbell-McBride, author of Gut and Psychology Syndrome, and why gluten and dairy are often the first foods explored when looking at the gut–brain connection.

It’s a big and sometimes controversial topic.

Neurodiversity enquiries are rising fast, and many parents are asking why?

Years ago, only a small percentage of clinic enquiries were for autism or ADHD. Now, in some months, it can be the majority. There isn’t one simple answer, but the conversation includes genetics, life experiences, and how modern lifestyles may influence which traits are expressed.

It also raises a powerful idea: traits linked to ADHD and autism may have once played important roles in how humans survived and worked together.

Are screens reshaping our children’s attention?

Many parents are noticing the same pattern, the more screen time increases, the less interest kids have in reading, creativity, and offline play. At the same time, ADHD conversations are rising, and the line between true ADHD and screen-driven attention struggles is becoming blurred.

Our modern food system is built for profit, and often, our health ends up paying the price.
From corporate control over seeds to oceans full of pollutants, it’s becoming harder to access truly clean, nutritious food, whether that’s fresh fish or even something as simple as salt. In the UK, movements like farmers’ markets and organic produce are helping, but there are still huge challenges.

It’s not about fear, it’s about being aware of the environment our food comes from and making informed choices where we can.

Living a long, healthy life starts with how we manage blood sugar. How our bodies respond to food over time can have a big impact on our long-term health.

Rising rates of dementia and Alzheimer’s are closely linked to blood sugar, sometimes called “type three diabetes.” But everyone is different, and our unique microbiome affects how we respond to the same foods.

Knowing your body, managing glucose, and balancing protein intake can make a real difference.

We’re seeing a generation of children who are struggling with social skills and deeper, meaningful conversations, and technology is playing a big part.

Apps like Snapchat are designed to keep kids constantly engaged, with streaks and online “status symbols” encouraging addictive habits. The result? Many young people are feeling more anxious, facing rising mental health challenges, and we’re noticing a significant increase in neurodiversity diagnoses like ADHD and autism.

This isn’t about blaming screens, but about understanding the environment today’s children are growing up in and how it’s shaping their development.

We’re living in a world where convenience has slowly replaced real, home-cooked food.

Over the years, the time spent cooking from scratch has dropped, and more of what we eat now comes in packets with long ingredient lists, many of which we don’t even recognise. When food starts to look more like it came from a factory than a kitchen, it’s worth pausing and asking questions.

There’s also the reality that eating well, choosing fresh, good-quality ingredients, can be costly, and that creates a real divide when it comes to long-term health.

This isn’t about blame. It’s about awareness.

What are your thoughts on this?

More and more couples are opening up about fertility struggles, and IVF is becoming a far more common part of the conversation than it was 10–15 years ago.

In this clip, we reflect on why that might be. From synthetic hormones in our environment and microplastics, to the fabrics we wear and the food we eat, modern life exposes us to far more than we realise. We also touch on our approach to antibiotics and whether supporting the body more naturally, where appropriate, could play a role in long-term health.

This isn’t about blame or fear, it’s about awareness and starting honest conversations around what may be influencing fertility today.

We’d genuinely love to hear your thoughts.
