Strongbones Children's Charitable Trust

Strongbones Children's Charitable Trust Helping children with scoliosis , spina bifida and all other serious bone conditions alongside complex needs . Charity Reg 1086173.

Strongbones Children’s Charitable Trust is a national registered charity set up to help alleviate the pain, suffering and financial burden of families who have children suffering from brittle bone disease, bone cancer, scoliosis, arthritis, and all other serious conditions of the bone. The charity has now been registered for 20 years, which gives us years of experience in our field. This experience

has allowed us to assist children and their families with guidance on how to make their conditions more manageable and enhance their quality of life to an optimum level. Our aims are to take children out of social isolation and give them the ability to participate in every day life. We also relieve the families financial burden whilst they come to the realisation that their child has a long-term incurable disability that will have a life changing impact on the whole family. A majority of the children we encounter come from the most poverty stricken sections of society coupled with the fact that many of these parents have had to give up employment to provide round the clock care for the life altering conditions of their children. We are sure you appreciate it takes much strength and resilience to care for a disabled child, and we often feel society overlooks this as a whole, leaving carers and their children feeling severed from the outside world.

☀️ Here’s some more amazing feedback from a family that stayed in one of our accessible holiday homes…

‘Just want to share some photos and say a massive THANK YOU for gifting Emily a weeks holiday in the 100 acre wood caravan. ❣️
We spent the week of her 14th birthday there with Emilys Granny and Grandad and it was just perfect.
The caravan had everything we needed and the set up was just great....wetroom, hoists, profile bed and beach chair are all fantastic.
We really loved how easy the swimming access was and the pool chair was amazing. We didnt use the swim sling as it isnt suitable for Ems movements. The park on site was great too...glad we took her goto seat as it meant she could access the swings and spinner.
We had some lovely days out too, Id really recommend Longdown activity farm...really hands on without being overwhelming, full changing place and wheelchair swing. They are also planning access onto the tractor ride for next season, I managed to lift Em on...just!
So nice to have a holiday and not have to worry about access or plan for everything and pack everything! Meant we could concentrate on fun and birthday celebrations, making the best memories. 🩷
Emily has asked every day since we have been back for "holiday again, caravan with Granny and Grandad". 😃
Thank you so much, this holiday meant so much to us.’

❤️ We love reading the feedback from our families and seeing the amazing photographs of our VIPs enjoying their holidays! 📸
Our holiday homes are fully booked for this year.

☀️ We’ve been receiving some fantastic feedback from our families that are enjoying our beautiful holiday homes at Shorefield Country Park, this is just from one family…

‘A huge thank you to Strongbones Children’s Charity for an absolutely fantastic week in their accessible caravan at Shorefield Country Park.
We hit the jackpot with the weather this week & an added bonus was our beautiful warrior son Evan got to turn 9 in this wonderful part of the UK!
We’ve explored the area & made some awesome memories!
Thank you to the amazing staff at Shorefield for helping in every aspect, the biggest achievement was us all swimming together as a family of 4, thank you!
Till next time, another gigantic thank you to the wonderful Strongbones Charity’

Our holiday homes are fully booked for this year, we can’t wait to see what next year brings! 🌅

We’ve received an email from Disabled Children’s Partnership, to complete an online form to make your voice heard by sharing your views -

‘The government is currently consulting on proposed changes to the SEND system, with responses closing on 18 May 2026.

The decisions made following this process will shape how support works for years to come — and it’s vital that the experiences of children, young people and families are part of what comes next.’

If any of our families would like to have their say, please click the link below, you don’t need to answer every question, even a short response on one or two issues can make a real difference!
