At SportWorks, we know that a few hours of support can make a world of difference.

Over the coming weeks, we'll be sharing the results of our latest Parent & Carer Survey, highlighting the difference our SEND Short Breaks programmes are making for children, young people and their families across 16 local authorities.

The feedback has been incredibly powerful:

🌟 Lancashire Short Break Sessions – May Half Term 🌟

Looking for a fun, supportive and active half term activity for your child or young person? Our SportWorks Short Break sessions are back next week for children and young people with a valid Break Time membership!

📍 Hyndburn – 26th May
📍 Preston – 27th May
📍 Burnley – 27th May
📍 Ormskirk – 28th May
📍 Chorley – 29th May

🕙 All sessions run from 10am–3pm

Our sessions are small-group based and packed with:
⚽ Sports & team games
🏃 Active play & playground games
🎨 Arts & crafts activities
🤝 Opportunities to socialise, build confidence and have fun in a safe and inclusive environment

Sessions are designed to support children and young people with SEND, with experienced staff and small staff-to-child ratios throughout the day.

🧩 The role includes:
⚽ Supporting multi-sports activities
🎨 Helping with arts & crafts sessions
💙 Creating a safe, fun and inclusive environment for children and young people with SEND

🕙 Saturdays & Holiday Sessions (2 days)
⏰ 10am–3pm
💷 Competitive hourly rate

This role would suit:
✔ Sports coaches
✔ Teaching assistants
✔ Youth workers
✔ Or anyone with experience supporting children & young people

What an amazing session in Barrow on Saturday! 🎉

From creative play and crafts to teamwork and lots of laughter, it was fantastic to see everyone getting involved, building confidence, and having fun together. 💛

Moments like these are what it’s all about — supporting young people to express themselves, connect with others, and enjoy being active in a safe and welcoming space.
