I wonder how many of us are functioning, getting things done and looking absolutely fine from the outside while carrying far more than anyone knows.
I’ve been asking for help for a long time, but asking for help with the things that need doing and recognising that I needed professional support for myself are two very different things.
Caring for someone comes with a mental load that people don’t always see.
The responsibility, advocating, worrying…constantly having to think ahead.
This year, I decided it was time to get some professional support for me too.
Therapy isn’t something that’s always openly talked about or common in my culture but I knew it was time for me to do something significant.
I now get to talk to someone doesn’t judge me, try to give me all the answers and gives me the space to process everything I’m carrying.
Is there something you’ve been carrying that you don’t need to carry alone? 💜
