Remembering how uncomfortable I was filming this.

Sometimes putting ourselves on the line and stepping out of our own comfort zones is EXACTLY what we need to do ........ something to think about

NOT FITNESS / HEALTH RELATED

But this is so compelling…

Most people aren’t patient enough to spend 2 minutes reading the whole thing, so I’d better post the last bit, as it’s too important not to:

“Don’t procrastinate. Don’t leave your dreams for later. Relish your energy, your passions. Don’t stay on the internet with all your spare time. Do something with your life while you’re young. DO NOT settle down at 20. DO NOT forget your friends your family. Yourelf. DO NOT waste your life. Your ambitions"

Bottom line guys… take action, and make s**t happen (whether that be getting on top of your health, or achieving the lifestyle that you need to fulfil your dreams and ambitions)!

*** MORE ON MENTAL HEALTH ***
.. and its flawed management in western healthcare systems.

The World Health Organization recommends benzodiazepines and anti-depressant drugs for those who have experienced psychological trauma.

But people who’ve experienced intense trauma are more likely to develop PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder)… The risk of developing this is already higher and then to add flame to the fire, giving benzos to people who’ve experience trauma remarkably increases the risk of developing PTSD.

That’s without even considering the long-term damage that is so often seen when people chronically take benzos and later on withdraw only to be plagued by brain-fog, low energy, chronic pain, burning and tingling (and many more undesired symptoms).

*** BORN WITH A PURPOSE ***

Some people say that we are “born to **insert whatever role they say**

- born to be a leader
- born to be a follower
- born to do this, or that, or the other.

No.

You were born to be a baby. What we do in our lives is shaped not by what fate would have, or what we were born to do … but instead by our own efforts, our own hustling, our own skills and our own determination to do well.

Whatever you’re going to be, it’s YOUR CHOICE … and your choice alone! Your life is of you're own making.

So if you are fed up of not being the version of yourself that you want because you’re not as in shape or fit or healthy as you once were, give me a shout and let’s do something about it - http://tinyurl.com/np8c8do

*** CAN STRESS CONTRIBUTE TO CANCER ?? ***

In the aftermath of my video log on Cancer the other day, I had a couple of very intelligent people point out to me that their observations have been that in cancer recovery, they see a great deal of trauma that people need to work through.

IT'S VERY IMPORTANT THAT CANCER SURVIVORS AND CANCER PATIENTS GET THIS HELP.

I responded to this point with the following, explaining how "trauma" may actually create circumstances under which the cancer may return:

----------------------------------------

Trauma will induce a very heightened stress response and likely a pronounced increase in catecholamines (like adrenaline) and cortisol (the stress hormone)

We know that Chronic catecholamine / cortisol elevation = immunosuppression and decreased cellular immunity ... this will decrease the ability of the body's own immune system to push back the dancer via programmed cell death.

Not only that but some cancer cell lines contain glucocorticoid receptors... Cortisol is a glucocorticoid so can bind to these receptors if levels are too elevated from a stress response, and keep the process going!
..

Therapies to deal with the trauma AND physiological therapies to correct imbalances within the body are both needed. A multi-faceted approach is the only way, if everyone is to receive the best chance possible.

At the end of the day, there are only two things that matter in life:

1) Fantastic experiences.
2) People!! aka your friends, family, people you’ll meet throughout your life.

This picture (taken way back when) was an example of both.

------------------------

To fully enjoy and be present for both, you’ll need your health. Don’t abuse it.

Posting this video in the aftermath of Alan Rickman and David Bowie's deaths last week. May they rest peacefully.

Thoughts and prayers go out to EVERYONE both directly and indirectly effected by this cruel disease.

I'm speaking from first-hand experience here, having seen people go through this, including my own mum.
