A whirlwind of change is coming to women’s healthcare—to serve generations beyond us. 🌪️✨
Former Obstetrician & Gynaecology doctor Sangeeta Mittal is channelling her expertise, fierce drive, and deep passion for women's wellbeing into something extraordinary.
She is utterly devoted to advancing yoga therapy, particularly for women and those in the peri and postnatal period and beyond, to improve outcomes for our daughters and sons, across cultural, identity and socioeconomic divides.
Yesterday Heather had the privilege of speaking at the launch event for The London Yoga Therapy Centre, in a room of leading medical specialists across the spectrum of women's health- fertility care, perinatal mental health, high-risk obstetrics and urogynaecology surgery.
Offering a deeply personal narrative to illuminate its power, Heather reflected that when we support womankind with yoga therapy, it may offer the greatest global social impact. Supporting her means supporting the family raising the child and the child's own trajectory, and en masse, the potential to shape the health of generations. There were tears when she spoke about what it costs women when we fail them at this stage of life.
London has not had a dedicated yoga therapy centre since the late great Dr Robin Monro's closed in 2009. The emergence of a new one, founded by a doctor who is passionate about yoga therapy, signals a growing momentum and recognition of the validity of this emerging and fast-evolving field.
With someone like Dr Sangeeta Mittal and her friends in our corner, we believe change, the only constant, is coming.
