She lost 4.5 kilos by eating more and exercising less...
Make it make sense!
Ladies & Gents, I have to share how my amazing client lost 4.5 kilos in 4 months without even trying! She didn’t come to see me for weight loss—her primary goal was to work on her nervous system and hormones after years of trauma.
As I always say, weight loss is just a pleasant side effect of achieving homeostasis within your body. What I have observed is that a lot of my clients are super dedicated to their intense HIIT workouts 3/4 times per week —but despite their efforts, the scale isn’t moving, or even worse, they're gaining weight.
What might be happening? 🤔
We’ve all heard about how high cortisol can lead to weight gain, and now everyone sees cortisol as the enemy. But here’s the thing: while chronically elevated cortisol is not ideal, low cortisol production isn’t ideal either. And it tends to happen after prolonged periods of stress, when the adrenal glands become tired and struggle to produce sufficient cortisol to meet the body's needs.
That’s why it’s crucial to assess both your adrenal hormones and s*x hormones to really understand what’s happening in your body.

💡 When your cortisol levels are low, your body is already under stress. HIIT workouts, while effective for many, can push your body into "stress overload."" Instead of burning fat, your body might enter 'survival mode," holding onto fat and slowing down your metabolism.
Here’s why:
👉🏾Stress overload: Cortisol helps your body manage stress. When it’s low, your body struggles to cope with the physical stress of HIIT, triggering fat storage—especially around your middle—as a protective mechanism.
👉🏾Blood sugar crashes: Cortisol plays a crucial role in maintaining stable blood sugar levels. With low cortisol, intense exercise can cause your blood sugar to drop rapidly, leading to cravings for carbs and sugary foods post-workout, resulting in overeating and weight gain.
👉🏾Muscle breakdown: Instead of building muscle, your body may break it down to meet energy demands, slowing your metabolism and making weight loss even harder.
✨ What you can do: Focus on gentler forms of exercise like yoga, walking, or light strength training to reduce stress and support your body.
Remember, it's not just about working harder; it’s about working smarter. 💪
Don't know if you have high or low cortisol? And why you can’t seem to lose weight despite hitting the gym regularly?
