Some paths in life are not simply learned, they are received.
Yesterday I spent time with my very first lomi lomi teacher, a woman whose presence continues to teach me far beyond technique or what happens on the massage table.
Over the years, our connection has grown into a beautiful friendship, and every time I am with her, I am reminded that this work is really about how we live, listen, relate, and care for one another.
The deeper teachings are rarely spoken loudly. They are felt in presence, in patience, in touch with intention, in respect, in the quiet passing down of wisdom from one to another.
Lomi lomi was never just a โmassageโ to me.
It carries something much older, softer, and more human than that, a way of being, of meeting people with heart.
Grateful for the teachers who embody the work so fully that simply being near them becomes part of the learning.
Iโve been offering lomi lomi sessions in London for many years now, and moments like these always reconnect me to why I love sharing this work so deeply.
