One of the things I love most is feeding people. This year I’ve been really lucky to feed people working on specific health goals or who are working to come off medication. When you feed people week in, week out, you see positive changes fast.

Here are some of my favourite meals and snacks from the past few months šŸ„—šŸ«œ

Last week I had the pleasure of being on a panel to celebrate new book - ā€˜In Good Taste’.

Alongside & .meldrum we tackled who really shapes decisions on what food we choose to stock our kitchens with, and share with our friends.

Mallika’s book tackles this question with nuance and understanding of the food system - an often forgotten part of the food on our plate! šŸ½ļø

Last month I led a soil to plate workshop for as part of their sustainable nutrition course šŸ›

We explored what healthy soil can really do for our food, and recipes that use the essence of this.

Soil is the beginning of all food - and the healthier it is, the tastier our food can be. Connecting the dots between suppliers, chefs and health professionals I believe is the key to good health and great food 🧱

As you all are, I’m reflecting on what 2025 gave me. A huge year personally (I got married!) and professionally too. Moving on from a role that I loved, and finding light in new opportunities.

The day before my wedding I went on training for my roles as a ambassador - it was game changing for me in how I think about myself, my business and my place in the food system.

This group inspired me more than they can know - and I feel grateful to have listened to their stories and learnt a little more about how I can do more for good food and health in 2026.

Big plans coming. You’ll hear more soon. šŸ¤

Enjoy the last moments of this year šŸŽ†

Pumpkins were always a LITTLE bit scary to me. And not just in the Halloween sense. I’d buy them, and let them sit untouched for weeks before I’d pluck up the courage to try and slice them.

Last year things changed - and so I’ve shared my pumpkin story and how exactly I cut them (easily! No fingers lost!) over on the website & newsletter this week. šŸŽƒ link in bio.

As we’ve gone through the year I’ve spoken to people doing all sorts of amazing things in the food system; but I really wanted to speak to a farmer. Boots on the ground, with a real-world view on our food.

There are some conversations that change how you see things, and this one really did that for me. Martin Caunce from said to me that all farmers are trying their best; they just don’t necessarily know another way to do things - that’s why these conversations are so important.

The more we learn different ways to get things done (in anything in life!) the easier it is to implement the things that resonate with us, and work in our own ecosystem (true for the soil, our families and our lives).

šŸ›Always on a mission to make soil sexy 🪱

Spent the weekend with talking all things soil and making simple dishes that showcase late summer produce. The soil is just like our gut - both have a microbiome, and if the bacteria are healthy and in balance, so is the environment around it.

On the menu was a garden zaatar on top of chickpeas, and a pear & dahlia pickle with eureka turmeric ACV šŸ«˜šŸ¶

A tomato extravaganza in the garden this week running their ā€˜Tickle Your Tastebuds’ sessions. Almost 100 people came to chat all things tomatoes, and learn how to create my super simple canapĆ©s and drinks.

Lots of tasters, laughs and tomatoes - on the menu a tomato & damson shrub with kombucha, an red bean & tomato hummus, and some mini tomato canapƩs with nasturtium & Mexican marigold.

I’ll be back next weekend in Yorkshire and then on the 12th October for both of the garden’s Plot to Plate festivals, speaking and running demos. Maybe see you there? šŸ…

Tomorrow’s newsletter drop is all about HYDRATION.

Hydration is way more than water, and I hope you enjoy reading in the newsletter tomorrow about whether filters really are the way forwards, and how many electrolytes we actually need to keep us going on a hot day.

There’s also dates for my events over the next couple of months, which I would love to see you at.

If you’re not already subscribed you can do so right here or at the link in bio: www.thelifelarder.co.uk
