7 days. No sugar. Real women. Real results. 🌿
Last month I ran a Sugar-Free Challenge, and I'm still processing how powerful it was.

Here's what these women said by the end of it 👇
"I no longer give in to sugar cravings, this is a massive shift for me." Fola. B
"I don't need sugar like I thought I did. The reset will be life-changing." Rebecca
"I would have given up without the group. The accountability changed everything."

One week. No gimmicks. Just education, community, and the right tools, and these women completely shifted their relationship with food.

This is what I do as a functional medicine practitioner, I don't give you a meal plan and send you on your way. I help you understand why your body does what it does, so the change actually sticks.

Sugar affects your energy ⚡ your sleep 😴 your mood 🌀 your hormones 🔄 and your weight. Most women are fighting their body without realising that food is the reason.

The next step is the Blood Sugar Balance Group Programme, 4 weeks, practical and research-backed, only £29 (free in the membership).

Black Health Legacy ✨

Honest, community-led conversations like this are exactly what’s needed to move the dial on health outcomes.

I had the privilege of presenting on menopause at the Health Summit: Understanding Black Health Matters, led by Dr Nick Chanda and Dr Mulenga Chanda.

We explored critical areas including menopause, functional testing, advocacy, and nutrition, all of which require greater awareness, earlier engagement, and culturally informed approaches to truly improve outcomes within Black communities.

It was especially powerful to hear from GP Dr Veline L’Esperance and learn more about the work of Black Health Legacy, pushing forward more inclusive research.

Because without representation, we miss the full picture.

Thank you to Dr Patricia Odunlami for the invitation; this was more than an event. It was a powerful coming together of community, expertise, and lived experience.

This wasn’t surface-level advice. This was about validation and practical tools.

To mark International Women’s Month, I had the privilege of delivering workshops designed to go beyond awareness, creating real support and meaningful change for women in the workplace 💛

At Imperial College London, we opened up honest conversations around two areas still widely misunderstood at work: menopause and endometriosis.

As part of Women at Imperial Week, these sessions brought together women who have been navigating symptoms in silence, often dismissed, unsupported, or unsure where to turn.

This wasn’t surface-level advice. This was about validation and practical tools.

Here’s what stood out:
🧠 Understanding changes everything
Women gained real insight into what’s happening in their bodies, from hormonal shifts to the inflammatory nature of endometriosis.

🔥 Symptoms are not random
Brain fog, fatigue, pain, anxiety, sleep disruption, these are rooted in inflammation, metabolism, gut health, and the stress response.

There are ways to support the body
Through functional testing, nutrition, lifestyle, and small consistent changes that reduce overall load.

💤 Sleep matters more than we think
Disruption has a ripple effect across the entire body, and it can be supported.

🗣️ Self-advocacy is key
Women left with the language and confidence to communicate their needs, with healthcare providers and within the workplace.

But most importantly…They realised they are not alone.

So many women shared they had been second-guessing themselves or quietly managing symptoms.

That isolation is something we can change. And conversations like these are where that change begins.

Thank you to the Menopause Staff Network, Imperial Move, Women at Imperial Week, the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Centre, and every woman who showed up open, honest, and ready to learn ✨

Black Health, Beauty & Lifestyle: What’s Normal and What’s Not

Some events you attend… and some truly shift something in you.

This was the latter.

It was a pleasure to be in the room for the first-ever in-person Health Palette event, founded by Olamide Isabella Olatokun at Somerset House, and what an experience.

This wasn’t just a conversation. It was a reset.

A powerful reminder to question what we’ve been told is “normal” when it comes to our health, and to advocate for more.

The room was filled with incredible women leading honest, necessary conversations:

Dr Amani Milligan
Amina Ibrahim
Dr Linda Orazulume
Dr Remi Mogekwu

Real insight. Real depth. The kind that challenges and empowers.

But what stood out most?
The space.

Open. Safe. Uplifting.
A space where women could reflect, question, and feel seen, without judgment.

These are the conversations we need more of.
This is how change starts.

Excited to see what’s next for The Health Palette ✨

Our Food Isn't The Problem!

Last week I had the honour of delivering a keynote to a room filled with incredible women of colour.

We spoke about our cultural foods, how we prepare them, and the real impact on our health.

Let’s be clear: our cultural foods are not the problem.

It’s what we’re pairing them with, how we’re cooking them, and the environment we’re living in.

Highly processed oils.
Hidden sugars in everyday sauces and seasonings.
Less movement. Less time outdoors.

But what really shifted the room?

Blood testing.

Women shared that they had:
– never been asked to fast
– been told to pump their fists
– rarely had morning appointments
– been told their veins were just “difficult”

As a phlebotomist, I’ll say this plainly:
poor testing = misleading results.

And that leads to wrong conclusions about your health.

What actually matters:
→ Some tests require fasting (glucose, insulin, triglycerides)
→ Fist pumping can falsely raise potassium
→ Dehydration can skew results
→ Timing matters (hormones + iron vary through the day)
→ Cholesterol needs context, not guesswork

This isn’t just about numbers.
It’s about being properly seen, heard, and investigated.

Because too many women are still being told:
“it’s normal”
“it’s just your body”
“you’ll have to live with it”

That’s not acceptable. And it’s not science.

You deserve better testing.
Better answers.
And healthcare that actually listens.

🏆 Awarded at the House of Lords

Still taking it in…
I was named Health & Wellbeing Champion of the Year at the House of Lords 🏛️✨

This is for every woman who has been told:
💬 “It’s just your hormones.”
💬 “Try the pill.”
💬 “There’s nothing wrong with you.”

No more being dismissed.
No more quick fixes.
No more suffering in silence.

This win is a loud, proud statement:
Women, especially women of colour, deserve better care.

Thank you to everyone who believes in this mission. I’m beyond grateful. Let’s keep raising the bar 💥
