Breakdance is coming to CHC Lee 🕺

And yes — it’s for beginners too.

Fancy learning something new, moving more, building confidence, and having a laugh while you’re at it?

We’re creating a waiting list for new breakdance classes in our studio on Friday evenings and Saturdays 📅

These classes will be open to kids, teens and adults, with sessions adapted to the people in the room. You do not need to be flexible, fearless, super fit, or already able to spin on your head.

Curiosity is enough.

Our studio is a brilliant space for it: proper flooring, big mirrors to check technique, a barre, and room to practise safely.

Breakdance is creative, energetic, skill-building movement — and a reminder that exercise does not have to feel boring or repetitive.

Your scan result is not your life sentence.

A scan can be useful. Sometimes it shows important information. But it does not always explain why someone is in pain — or why pain keeps going.

Many people are told they have a bulging disc, degeneration, wear and tear, or “abnormal” spinal changes. Understandably, that can sound frightening.

But here’s the bit people often aren’t told clearly enough:

These findings can also show up in people who have little or no pain at all.

That does not mean your pain is imagined.
It means pain is more complex than “something is damaged.”

Persistent back pain can involve the nervous system becoming protective and sensitised. Fear of movement, stress, overwhelm, past experiences, and learned protective patterns can all keep the system on high alert.

When people understand this, something important can shift:

Pain becomes less mysterious.
Movement can feel safer again.
Recovery can start to feel possible.

DISCLAIMER: This bit ISN’T Plato 🥴

But it does agree with him! This Mental Health Awareness Week, it has been interesting to reflect on how complementary therapies are one of the few wellness spaces where the whole is respected.

🦾 The physical ‘equipment’ is taken care of through healing touch - stimulating blood flow, balancing hormones, promoting endorphin production.

😌 The mind is taken care of through rest, calm, relaxation and a sense of luxury.

👥 A sense of connection is created, not only with the therapist, satisfying that human need to feel in communion with others, but also between the mind and body - an ultimate mindful moment.

Mental health can be complex, and there is no simple fix, but complementary therapies can be just that - a complement to all and any other forms of care.

Please, this week and every week; take care of yourself 🙏🖤

Easy movement, better posture, less effort when moving.
Sounds too good to be true, doesn't it.

Feldenkrais is one of those things that’s hard to explain until you feel it.

It’s very gentle. Almost surprisingly so.

But people often come away saying their movement feels easier…
LIke their body is working with them instead of against them.
Two of Rainer’s students described exactly that.
Rainer himself is a dancer—so he’s spent years working with movement.
And even then, he finds real value in this approach.
That says a lot.
If you’re curious, he runs both classes and one-to-one sessions at CHC Lee on a Thursday morning.
