If you are looking for something that will satisfy your chocolate cravings that time of the month while nourishing your body during this period, these chocolate oats topped with vanilla coconut protein frosting will do just that! Tasting like a creamy chocolatey treat while giving your body 35 gr of plant protein, 19 gr of fibre, iron, magnesium, omega 3s and probiotics.
Here’s how to make them☺️

✨For the chocolate porridge:
🥄1/2 cup of rolled oats/buckwheat flakes
🥄1 cup of hazelnut/almond milk or other you like
🥄1/2 cup of warm water
🥄1-2 heaped tbsp of cacao powder
🥄2 tbsp of chia seeds
🥄1 tbsp of h**p seeds
🥄2 heaped tbsp of hazelnut chocolate/vanilla plant based protein

In a bowl, stir together the oats, chia, h**p, cacao, protein. Add the milk and then hot water. Mix to combine.
Add more milk if needed to make them nice and creamy.
Place in the fridge for half an hour or overnight.

✨For the vanilla coconut yogurt frosting:
🥄3/4 cups of coconut yogurt
🥄1 heaped tbsp of vanilla protein powder

Mix all ingredients together until well incorporated and pipe or dollop the frosting on top of the porridge.

I then added some juicy plum slices, a drizzle of tahini mixed with matcha powder (my cheaper version of pistachio butter😉), walnuts, cacao nibs, pistachio crumble and blue corn petals. So good😍
Let me know if you try this!😊
Happy Friday!🤎

A throwback today to this bowl that feels like summer and autumn combined..we are almost in September so it’s coming. Who’s excited for autumn leaves? And who is feeling melancholic for the end of summer?

✨To make the smoothie base, blend:
🥛1 cup of almond milk
🥛1/2 cup of coconut kefir
🥬a small handful of steamed kale
🍠half of a medium cooked sweet potato or a banana
🥄2 heaped tbsp of vanilla plant based protein
🥄a tbsp of soaked chia and flax seeds
💧extra water or milk to blend until smooth

Once ready, I topped my bowl with a drizzle of almond butter, raspberries, apricot jam, a spoonful of homemade nutella, toasted buckwheat, cacao nibs and popped quinoa. Crunchy, creamy, sweet, chocolatey and fruity..all the textures and flavours😋

And this bowl is not only blending summer and autumn but also a balance of nutritious ingredients and some that are feed the soul and belly😉
I like to make smoothies because I can fill them with plant foods that are filled with fibre, omega 3s, protein, essential vitamins and minerals, pre and probiotics, antioxidants that keep me satisfy for longer, feed my cells and help me keep inflammation at a balanced levels which for people that deal with autoimmune conditions like myself is really important.
But I also like to add elements that just taste good like apricot jam or homemade nutella (although cacao is filled with so many beneficial nutrients so technically my nutella is a whole food😉) and not just focus on nutrition 100% of the time.
What about you? How do you approach your meals and nutrition?
Would love for people to share their experience.
Happy Wednesday!💚
