➡️Black sesame seeds have been used in Chinese medicine for preventing hair graying and enhancing skin tone. They may not prevent grey hair but they contain minerals iron, zinc, and vitamin E which support hair growth and health.
➡️Black sesame seeds are rich in vitamins B1, B6, and E, as well as lignans such as sesamin, sesamolin, sesamol, sesaminol, sesamolinol, and pinoresinol, which function as antioxidants by mitigating oxidative stress reducing inflammatory markers.
➡️They also contain monounsaturated fatty acids and polyunsaturated fatty acids, both of which support cardiovascular health.
The lignans in black sesame are associated with lower total cholesterol, LDL and triglycerides levels.
➡️Black sesame is a source of fibre and several minerals, including calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, copper, zinc, and iron. The high calcium content in black sesame seeds benefits bone health and magnesium and phosphorus help maintain bone density and support bone formation.
A dose of black plant goodness daily😉
Happy Friday!🖤

A bowl filled with some of my favourite things..juicy strawberries, matcha, chia pudding, hazelnut butter and a creamy plant powered bowl🤩

✨For the smoothie base, blend:
🥛1 heaped cup of coconut milk
🥬handful of spinach and lamb’s lettuce
🥑half of a medium avo or a frozen banana
🥄2-3 spoonfuls of yogurt
🥄2 heaped tbsp of vanilla plant based protein
💧extra water or milk until creamy

✨For the matcha chia pudding:
🥛1 cup of coconut milk
🥄1/4 cup of chia seeds
🥄2 tbsp of yogurt
🥄1/2 tsp of matcha powder
🥄1/2 tsp of vanilla extract

Mix all ingredients together in a bowl or jar for a few minutes.
Place in the fridge overnight or for at least an hour.

I dolloped some on top of my bowl along with hazelnut butter, strawberries, coconut chips, pistachios and coconut sprinkles🤩

Matcha and strawberries are the best combination! Love adding chia pudding to smoothies, yogurt or porridge to make them even more fillings and delicious! I know some people don’t love the texture but you can always blend the pudding if you don’t😊
Let me know if you try this recipe!
Have a good and positive start to the week everyone!☺️Happy Monday!💚
