๐Ÿ†• We've launched a new toolkit, available in English, French, and Spanish!

Children with disabilities face significant barriers to accessing education in emergencies. This toolkit helps organisations working on Education in Emergencies (EiE) to identify those barriers and build a plan to remove them.

Developed in collaboration with the International Disability Alliance and through funding from Education Cannot Wait.

Teachers on the frontlines of conflict and displacement in Colombia are proving that inclusive education is possible, even in the most challenging circumstances.

Through a project implemented by IDA and Inclusion International. and funded by Education Cannot Wait, Asdown Colombia delivered transformative teacher training workshops across three regions: Arauca, Chocรณ, and Nariรฑo.

Using Universal Design for Learning, teachers moved away from focusing on a child's diagnosis and toward dismantling the barriers in their environment.

"It's not about everyone reaching the same point, nor about them doing it in the same way." โ€” Teacher, Arauca

"Inclusion starts at home and continues at school." โ€” Caregiver, Choco, Colombia

In Colombia and Niger, children with disabilities are too often left out of the classroom during crises. With funding from Education Cannot Wait, Inclusion International and the International Disability Alliance are breaking down these barriers.

Our Impact:
โœ… Training teachers on inclusive classroom practices.
โœ… Partnering with OPDs to lead humanitarian efforts.
โœ… Developing tools to ensure every child can access education.
