My life working as a corporate nurse CEO.

It’s not glamorous every day.

Some days it’s chasing invoices, rewriting reports and answering emails from the school car park.

But it’s mine. I built it. And I wouldn’t swap it.

Sharing some examples of capturing potential clients/leads for health and social care businesses (this I learnt about 2 years into my business, I wish I knew earlier but now I do it has been great for me and it’s only right I share!)

Because ā€œcapture your leadsā€ can sound very marketing-heavy,

But really, it’s just about creating a bridge between:

ā€œI’m interestedā€
and
ā€œI’m ready to have a conversation.ā€

And that bridge can be simple.

For a home care provider, it could be:

A care checklist
For example: ā€œ10 Questions to Ask Before Choosing a Care Provider.ā€

Or

A WhatsApp enquiry button
Because some families want to ask a quick question before booking a call.

For a clinic or healthcare business, it could be:

A suitability checklist
For example: ā€œIs This Treatment Right for Me?ā€ I have a good governance health check

Or

A waitlist

Great for new clinics, limited spaces, launches or popular services (to be honest I used a waitlist for Beyond The Shift event back in Dec and we sold)

The goal isn’t to overwhelm people.

It’s to make the next step obvious.

500 page views… but no lead capture?

This came up in a really insightful client meeting on Monday.

For context, they’re a home care provider and they shared how difficult it’s been to acquire new clients.

They’d already tried:

Leaflets.
Flyer drops.
Speaking with discharge coordinators.
Building local hospital links.
Networking and lots more

And honestly, they felt like they’d exhausted all options ( I am seeing this alot as well)

So I asked one simple question:

ā€œHow are you capturing the people already looking at you?ā€

We opened their Facebook professional dashboard.

They had around 500+ page views.

That’s 500 people who had taken some form of interest.

But there was no clear way to capture them.

No simple lead form.
No downloadable guide.
No enquiry journey.
No name and email capture.
No follow-up process.

And this is what I’m seeing more often with care providers.

The problem isn’t always that no one is looking.

Sometimes the problem is that people are looking… but there’s no clear next step.

Before jumping straight into paid ads, the first question should be:

Do you have a basic lead capture system in place?

Because even if only 10 people out of 500 become genuine enquiries, that could make a real difference to your business.

Marketing is not just about visibility.

It’s about creating a route from:

interest → enquiry → conversation → client

If people are landing on your page but leaving without a trace, you don’t have a marketing problem.

You have a capture problem.

These are the nuggets that I’ve learnt along the away in both starting my own governance consultancy and digital marketing AI agency, it’s great that I can align the two!

Your analytics can tell you a lot but understanding it is what counts

I’ve often been the one shouting from the rooftops about networking.

And don’t get me wrong, networking matters.

But I’ve reached a point where I’m becoming less interested in collecting conversations…

and more interested in creating real opportunities.

Opportunities that lead to collaboration.
Opportunities that lead to visibility.
Opportunities that lead to work, growth, and actual movement.

Because connection for the sake of connection is no longer enough.

I value aligned rooms, intentional relationships, and conversations that open doors — not just exchange pleasantries.

That’s the shift.

Not just networking.
Opportunity-building.
A lot of people know people.

But not everyone knows how to turn connection into something meaningful (this is something i've learnt more and more of in my career and definitely into the journey of entrepreneurship)

That part matters too.

Just throwing in a pic of Me @ Parliament 😊

Nobody taught us this part.

Nursing school gave us the clinical skills. The NHS gave us the experience. But nobody sat us down and said — here's how to run a business,

So most of us figure it out the hard way.

I made every single one of these mistakes when I started out. The undercharging. The building in silence. The spending weeks on a logo before making one sale. All of it.

Comment CHEAT below and I'll send it straight to you.

Improvement in healthcare governance doesn’t happen by chance.
It happens through structured systems and clear delivery.

My 8–12 week implementation sprint helps services move from reactive and overwhelmed to structured, compliant, and inspection-ready.

We assess risks, prioritise what matters, fix governance fundamentals, embed systems, and evidence the results.

Comment SPRINT if you want the framework.

I’ve finally reached the stage in business where I can hire staff

She’s joined the team with immediate effect.
No interview.
No references.
No onboarding required.

Just vibes, strong opinions, and a clear commitment to overseeing absolutely everything I do.

She’s strong-willed, highly selective, and has very clear opinions on leadership (sounds a little like someone i know šŸ‘€ )

Oh, and I forgot to mention — she also brings extensive expertise in frequent snack breaks and a tendency to take over the tech without permission.

To be fair, she does bring energy to the team...literally...

The garden office is open. Management has spoken.
