I know money's tight and there are lots of worthy causes vying for your support. But here's another that is close to my heart.



Local authorities have less money every year to people with a learning disability/learning difficulty/autism. As a result, many who want to live independent lives but aren't yet able to do so are now faced with life with little if any day-to-day support.



Greenwich Mencap are an amazing bunch of people doing more with less every year. They provide direct support for people with LD/A and their families/carers, plus invaluable advice and day activities (my father-in-law runs their woodwork centre and you can buy the products their members make). Their services are game-changers for the people who use them, but like many small local charities, they are under continued financial pressure.



Here comes the ask.



The Big Give Christmas Challenge campaign that starts today is their chance to raise a few thousand pounds and support more people this winter. The kicker here is that EVERY POUND YOU GIVE WILL BE MATCHED, until the campaign limit it reached.



Apparently adding links to LinkedIn posts kills their reach, so if you can't spare a donation right now, please give us a Like or a Repost so we can get this appeal in front of some businesses from south east London who can support the campaign.
