How wild is this??

Here’s the process:

Newborns are born coated in a mix of amniotic fluid, vernix caseosa, and active sweat glands, creating a highly specific, unique chemical signature on their heads.

When a mum pulls her baby close and takes a deep sniff, those scent molecules hit her olfactory system and travel straight to her limbic system (the emotional center of the brain).

This instantly cues the posterior pituitary gland to flood her body with oxytocin - the “love hormone.”

That massive hormonal surge then tells the uterus to contract hard. These contractions are what shear the placenta away from the uterine wall and safely compress open blood vessels to prevent postpartum hemorrhage.

At the same time, the scent activates the dopamine reward pathway (the same area that lights up with delicious food), delivering a rush of natural euphoria and pain relief exactly when a new mother needs it most.

Nature really thought of everything. 🤍

How to “hug the baby” properly.

A really powerful breathing exercise for pregnancy to support the deep core and pelvic floor.

It’s so simple and can help relieve strain on the lower back and pelvis by maintaining good posture as well as prevent excessive separation of the abdominal wall.

How to do it:

1. Inhale: take a deep 360 degree breath into the ribcage, back and belly. The diaphragm will travel downwards which naturally expands the belly and relax the pelvic floor (the muscles you squeeze when you’re trying to hold a wee).

2. Exhale and gently draw your belly inwards. Think of utilising all of your abdominal muscles and allow the belly button to travel towards the spine whilst squeezing the pelvic floor.

Your health should be a priority.

I don’t use the word should lightly…

…but with the level of toxicity we are exposed to today through food, water, pollution, radiation, clothing, cleaning products, va💉 and medication, we have to be more aware than ever.

1. Food
2. Water
3. Detox
4. Reduce exposure to toxins
5. Clothing
6. Stop relying on traditional medicine for health

In a world where we are constantly blasted with toxins, chemicals, radiation and stress, we can’t avoid all exposure especially when we travel.

But what we can do is implement small changes and habits that support and protect our body and immune system in these harsh environments.

Which one are you going to try first?!

Doing a big activewear clear out this week (even though I haven’t worn these brands for over a year), and most of it is going straight in the bin.

Here’s why: polyester and nylon are plastic, literally made from petroleum, and your skin absorbs some of what sits against it, especially once you start sweating and your pores open up.

Every wash and every wear, synthetic fabric sheds tiny microplastic fibres, and those particles have now been found in human blood and even lung tissue.

Then there’s the “performance” coating, the moisture-wicking, odour-control finish most brands add to synthetic fabric, and a lot of those treatments are endocrine disruptors.

Endocrine disruptors don’t need a huge dose to cause problems, they work by interfering with hormone signalling itself, so small repeated exposure over years is really what adds up.

Synthetic fabric also traps heat instead of letting your skin breathe, which raises skin temperature and can throw off the microbiome living on the surface of your skin.

I’m not trying to scare anyone off leggings, I just think we deserve better fabric.

So here’s who I’m actually buying from now:

• Boody (fav)
• Wear Pact
• Organic Basics
• Patagonia
• Lezat
• Happy Earth
• Indigo Luna (fav)
• prAna

If you’re going to sweat in something for an hour, it might as well not be plastic 🔥
