The heat is nearly over🤞🏻🤭☀️
A quick reminder: please avoid covering prams with muslin cloths or blankets, even if it feels like it creates shade. It can actually trap heat inside the pram very quickly and increase the temperature much more than expected.

Instead, safer ways to help keep babies cooler can include:
• clip-on pram parasols
• breathable shade attachments
• portable stroller fans
• regular shade breaks + airflow
• checking baby’s temperature often

Prams can overheat surprisingly fast during hot weather, so even small changes can make a big difference 🤍

Laura

☀️ BABY HYDRATION DURING HOT WEATHER ☀️🍼🤱🏼

A little reminder from today’s reel because hydration looks different depending on how your baby is fed 🤍

• First of all: mums need hydration too 💧
Whether you’re breastfeeding, bottle feeding or mixed feeding — look after yourself first

• Fully breastfeeding babies may want to feed more often during hot weather
This is completely normal and helps them stay hydrated

• Breastfed babies do not need extra water before starting solids

• If baby is fully bottle fed or mixed fed, you can offer small amounts of cool boiled water during hot weather

• Remember: water does NOT replace a milk feed 🍼

Hot days can feel overwhelming, but feeding little and often is usually key ☀️

☀️ HOT WEATHER BABY TIPS ☀️👶🏼

A little recap from today’s reel to help keep your little one cool, safe & comfortable during warmer London days 🤍

• Ideal room temperature for babies: 16–20°C
• Keep blinds & curtains closed during the day to help the room stay cooler
• Open windows when possible for airflow
• Check baby’s temperature using the back of your hand on their chest/back
• Add or remove a layer depending on how warm or cool baby feels
• During heatwaves, baby can sleep in just a vest
• If it’s really hot, even just a nappy is absolutely fine
• Bedding can be removed on the hottest nights

Every baby is different, so always follow your baby’s cues ✨

Hi, I’m Laura 👋🏼 a little reintroduction for the new faces in the Tips and Bibs community.
I’m a Neonatal nurse, IAIM Baby Massage & Birthlight Baby Yoga instructor — and someone who deeply believes that you are the expert of your baby 🤍

One of the things I love most about both Baby Massage and Baby Yoga is how beautifully they align with neonatal care: the parent is central.
Your baby is constantly communicating with you, and learning to read their cues, rhythms and needs builds connection, confidence and trust — for both of you.

In a world where new parents are often overwhelmed with advice, I think it’s so important, especially during Mothers Mental Health Week and Mental Health Awareness Month, to remind parents that your instincts matter too.
Supporting parental confidence is not “extra” care — it is care.

When parents feel empowered, supported and connected, it can have such a positive impact on the whole family 🌿

✨ New courses at Tips & Bips start on the 27th May:
🤍 Baby Massage — 11:30am
🧘🏻‍♀️ Baby Yoga — 2:30pm

Baby Yoga drop-ins available ✨
📍Park Royal, London
🚗 Free parking

Have you ever doubted yourself as a parent, only to realise later that your instinct was actually right? 🫶🏼

Slow down. Breathe in. Hold what matters most 🤍
Practicing gentle savasna with my baby resting on your chest, letting the breath guide you both into calm and connection.
Have you taken a moment today to just breathe and be present with your little one?

No one tells you this… but your body is already making your baby’s first milk before they’re even born 👀

Antenatal colostrum harvesting can be such a powerful tool—especially in those first few days after birth when every drop really matters.

It’s not for everyone though, and timing + technique make a big difference (this is something I always go through properly in person).

Before you start this journey, always double check with your midwife that it’s safe for you-every pregnancy is wonderfully different 🤍

If you have any painful contractions, stop expressing and contact your midwife straight away.

I could also share, how to collect it, and the most common discouragement I see parents facing …

Would you like me to go into that too?

Sometimes it starts as a class…
and then it becomes something more 💛

A place where tired mornings are understood,
where small wins are celebrated,
and where both mums and babies can just be.

Over time, it turns into a little circle —
of support, connection and familiar faces.

If you’re looking for a space where you and your baby feel truly seen,
this might be exactly what you’ve been needing 💛.
Only 2 baby yoga drop-in spots left 💫
A few new classes will be opening soon ✨

Love,
Laura

👶 There’s a new UK law for parents… but let’s talk about what it REALLY means.

In short: the April 2026 changes don’t increase the length of paternity leave — they mainly make it easier for more people to qualify for that two‑week entitlement without having to wait 26 weeks with a single employer, and make taking it more flexible.

“It is a start”, yes! is it enough? You tell me :)

🤍 I believe that those first days aren’t just “time off”
They’re where bonding happens

Skin-to-skin, eye contact, voice, touch, this is how babies feel safe, this is how their nervous system develops

💭 Imagine if more partners
had the time to join baby massage or baby yoga
to really slow down and connect

Because bonding isn’t automatic …it needs time.

Struggling to get comfortable with breastfeeding? The cradle hold might be your game changer 💛

Breastfeeding position: the cradle hold 🤱

In the cradle hold, your baby lies across your chest, tummy to tummy with you, with their head resting in the crook of your arm on the same side as the feeding breast. Their ear, shoulder, and hip should be in one straight line, and their nose level with your ni**le before they latch.

This position feels natural and nurturing, especially once feeding is established. It allows beautiful eye contact, supports bonding, and can feel calm and secure for both of you when baby is latching well.

Have you found the cradle hold comfortable, or are you still searching for your perfect feeding position?

With love,
Laura xx
