PIP is committed to encouraging and empowering adults with learning disablilities to achieve their full potential. http://www.piponline.org.uk/

Leaving school or college and setting out on adult life is an exciting time for young people and their families. It also has its challenges and even more so if the young person has Down’s syndrome or a learning disability. For over 20 years PIP (Pursuing Independent Paths) has been passionately committed to improving the lives of young adults with learning disabilities in transition from education

by encouraging independence, choice and integration into mainstream society. We firmly believe that young people should be supported to shape their own futures based on their individual needs and preferences. PIP has developed over the years and we now employ eleven staff, and numerous volunteers who work with over 80 students each year to develop work and life skills and support networks in a friendly, accessible and energetic learning environment. We work in partnership with the local community, health and social services and local employers. Most importantly, the organisation and services are developed and managed through close consultation with the people with learning disabilities who access them.

And that’s that, the last day of Careers Week!

For today we went on a trip to Westminster City Council Hall’s cafe ☕️🫖 We had a great tour around and were shown the amazing work they do alongside the charity Unity Works, a charity for workers with disabilities in the cafe. We had a look into the Mayor of Westminster’s Parlour with some great views of London to boot, not to mention some pretty tasty food to round things off 🤤 There’s worse ways to finish Careers Week than fish and chips! 🐟🍟

Term 3 is already finished !?

Busy weeks at PIP !

The last weeks have been super busy, but also extremely fun.
We were busy practising for our summer showcase this saturday, had lots of cool sessions and enjoyed the good weather. 🌸

First week after half term break 🌼

We’ve been back a week and already had a busy week at PIP!

Filled with amazing sessions, wonderful activites and exciting trips outside of PIP !
A fun trip to the sensory art🎨 exibition at and an amazing trip to the Emirates stadium 🏟️, home of football club.

We also started our new fantastic seedling 🌱 project at , which gives our students the opportunity of work experiences !

Looking forward to this week, full of nice events and sessions 🌼

Another half-term finished at PiP!
A reminder we’re closed all this week while our staff get trained up in Makaton & emergency medication, plan some amazing sessions for next half-term, and as our eyes turn towards Summer Leisure Programme.
Normal service resumes from 3rd June

It’s already half term!?
A great time to recap term 3 so far.

Enjoying the sun in the park, practicing for our creative and performing art showcase, enjoying a wonderful day with the fire brigade, lots of unforgettable trips and so much more.
We had a great time with lots of fun sessions, great activities and unforgettable moments.
We are already looking forward to all the new exciting projects !

Quick reminder: we are closed next week for our staff planning and training week, but we are looking forward to be back on 3rd of June
