At least! 😆

Skin dz can be so frustrating to diagnose & treat - shout-out to the persevering owners & vet teams… personally, I find emergencies less stressful than chronic skin issues

VetYogi CPD Wellbeing Workshops for the London Vet Specialists team 🩵

Yesterday I headed into London to meet the LVS nursing teams (plus a few vets) for sessions in honour of - repeating the session so that we could ensure as many people could attend as possible.

We focused on the power of breath work for managing stress & anxiety, and how to utilise different breath work techniques for in-practice situations, so of course we had to include a practical trying some of them out!

Alternate Nostril Breathing (Nadi Shodhana) & Belly Breathing (Adham Pranayama) are just some of the helpful practices that veterinary professionals can use in their busy day-to-day to help regulate your nervous system.

A huge thank you to Ryan, Amy & the team for having me - your CPD certicates are on the way! Wonderful to meet you all (sorry to miss you - had our StreetVet pal as a lovely familiar face!)

If you’d like to consider a VY Wellbeing Workshop for your team email [email protected] for more info.

Busy but fun & productive time in London with catch ups also with Naomi from , Zuzanna from & Florian from .ai 🙌🏻

Time for a bit of a break this weekend!

On World Meditation Day, a gentle reminder from Thich Nhat Hanh 💚

Meditation doesn’t mean silencing your mind completely; it can be as simple as pausing, breathing, and noticing the present moment.

A few beginner-friendly ways to start:
☁️ Focus on your breath: slow inhale through the nose, slow exhale through the nose or mouth
☁️ Imagine thoughts drifting by like clouds - watch them float away, instead of holding on to them
☁️ Start with just 2–5 minutes of stillness
☁️ If your mind wanders, gently return to your breathing without judgment
☁️ Create a small daily ritual: morning, before bed, or whenever you need calm

Don’t expect perfection - your busy mind will likely wander! That’s part of the practice, and as we meditate more it gets easier. The anchor is always your breath.

In the same way you wouldn’t expect a new grad vet to jump into a GDV, or a newly qualified nurse to manage a complicated GA alone, if you’re new to meditation don’t expect expert levels of stillness straight away 😄

If you’d like support getting started, try the FREE 10 Day Meditation Challenge on VetYogi Collective. It’s designed to help you build a simple, consistent practice one day at a time, while trying a range of meditation and breath work techniques

Save this post for a moment when you need to reconnect 🙏🏻

If Vet Nurses invented yoga poses…

Happy Veterinary Nurse Awareness Month! The epitome of professional multitaskers with knowledge bases that stretch further than an expert yogi, vet practices literally could not run without the abilities & dedication of vet nurses & techs 💚

In recognition of all their skills, we thought we’d have a little fun with some VN-inspired “yoga” poses:

🦾 The “Let Me Just Grow Some Extra Arms Pose” - essential for passing the vet the hundred things they ask for at once
🐕 The “Large Dog Suture Removal Bridge Pose” - got to get right under there if they won’t lie down
🩸 The “Blood Sample Standing Straddle Pose” - cat is in the perfect position, adjust yourself accordingly
💃🏻 The “Dancers Instrument Pass Pose” - going the extra mile to provide vital equipment
🪨 The “Could The Vet Really Not Find This Mountain Pose” - it’s right there in dispensary where it always is
🙏🏻 The “Hope We Don’t Get Savaged Prayer Pose” - gauntlets optional, thoughts & prayers essential

Feat. the very handsome model, Arthur 😻 (who defo doesn’t actually need gauntlets!) Send this to your VN friends - we’d also love to hear your ideas in the comments

ALSO huge thanks to the participating nurses - many of whom work alongside me at some of my regular practices. We’re proud to be supporting the Month of Movement for May 🤸🏻 More info coming soon!

Which is your favourite pose?!

Happy Earth Day 🌍

As veterinary professionals, we see first-hand how environment shapes animal health, and how vital it is to take care of our home planet for every species - including us - to survive & thrive

It may be that you’re spending the majority of your day inside (we know what it’s like to go a long shift in practice without even being aware of the weather outside), so today we want to encourage you to step out to reconnect with the Earth, even for a couple of minutes 💚

Here at VetYogi we’ll never stop banging on about how important nature is to our mental & physical health! Take a little inspiration from our VYC teachers:

🌿 Get yourself outside
🌿 Breathe a little deeper
🌿 Notice what’s around you mindfully

👉🏻 Save this for a reminder to get outside
👉🏻 Send it to someone you want to get outside with today!

How do you show appreciation for your team? This week is 📞

This little self-care station was something I put together last year for some wonderful colleagues at one of my long-standing locum practices: a small way to thank them, and encourage them to look after themselves as well as they look after their patients, clients & colleagues.

Seeing as I can’t do that for every fabulous colleague I’ve worked with, and because we want EVERY member of the vet team to feel seen & know we care, this week we want our lovely vet receptionists around the world to know we’ve got their back 🙌🏻

With a whole section of yoga & meditation classes dedicated to the unique needs of the customer care team, we’re offering all 50% OFF our monthly/annual memberships for this week, including our special Vet Receptionist Bundle 🖥️

Visit https://collective.vetyogi.com and enter code VRAW50 at sign-up to get access to our full content catalogue for just £6/month, valid for this week only (ends 26th April)

Share with a vet receptionist you’re grateful for!
