OSHO BODY MEDITATION
60 minutes to FULL reset
Stage 1: 15 minutes – Unpatterned shaking ("entropy")
Stand with your feet about shoulder-width apart.
Allow your entire body to shake freely, starting from the knees and letting the movement spread upward.
Don't perform a rhythmic exercise or dance. Instead, let the shaking become spontaneous, irregular, and unpredictable—as if the body is releasing accumulated tension.
Breathing remains natural.
If emotions arise (laughter, tears, sounds), allow them without deliberately acting them out.
Purpose: The shaking is intended to interrupt habitual muscular and psychological patterns. It helps discharge stress, loosen chronic tension, and bring awareness into the body.
Stage 2: 15 minutes – Childlike dancing
Put on uplifting music.
Dance however your body wants to move.
There are no steps or choreography.
Approach it with the playfulness of a child—not performing, not trying to look good.
Let joy, spontaneity, and creativity guide the movement.
Purpose: After releasing tension, the energy is redirected into celebration, openness, and free expression. The emphasis is on being present rather than dancing well.
Stage 3: 15 minutes – Sit completely still
Sit comfortably with your spine naturally upright.
Close your eyes.
Become like a stone—no voluntary movement if possible.
Observe everything: breathing, bodily sensations, thoughts, sounds, emotions.
Don't try to suppress thoughts or concentrate on anything in particular.
Purpose: Because the body has already expressed its restlessness, sitting quietly often feels easier. The practice becomes one of effortless witnessing rather than forcing stillness.
Stage 4: 15 minutes – Lie in "co**se pose"
Lie flat on your back in Savasana (Co**se Pose).
Let the arms and legs rest comfortably apart.
Allow the whole body to become heavy.
Do nothing at all—not even trying to meditate.
Simply rest in complete relaxation and awareness.
Purpose: This final stage allows the nervous system to integrate the experience. Deep relaxation can help the body absorb the effects of the earlier movement and stillness.
Overall progression
The meditation follows a clear arc:
Release physical and emotional tension through shaking.
Express vitality and joy through free dance.
Witness the mind and body in stillness.
Surrender into complete relaxation.
The total practice takes about 60 minutes (15 minutes for each stage).
