Healthwatch Lewisham

Healthwatch Lewisham Ensuring your voice counts when it comes to shaping and improving local health and social care services.

Healthwatch Lewisham is the independent champion for people who use health and social care services. We exist to ensure that people are at the heart of care. We listen to what people like about services, and what could be improved and we share their views with those with the power to make change happen. At a local level, Healthwatch Lewisham works to help local people get the best out of their loc

al health and social care services. Whether it’s improving them today or helping to shape them for tomorrow. Healthwatch Lewisham is all about local voices being able to influence the delivery and design of local services. Not just people who use them, but anyone who might need to in future.

South London and Maudsley Foundation Trust (SLAM) are completing the transition of their crisis line to NHS 111.

From 1 April, the previous standalone number (0800 731 2864) will close, making 111 the single access point for anyone in urgent mental health distress.

You will still reach the same local crisis teams - this change of numbers just makes it easier and quicker to access help through NHS 111. Anyone, of any age, experiencing a mental health crisis, or worried about a friend or family member, should call NHS 111 and select the mental health option.

What is NHS 111 for mental health?
NHS 111 for mental health is designed to support anyone experiencing a mental health crisis, those concerned about a friend or loved one, as well as fellow Blue Light services and healthcare professionals supporting those in crisis.

NHS 111 for mental health has been in place for South London residents since December 2023, and is a key route to urgent support for patients, partners, and the wider community.
