She arrived in the UK for just two weeks and wanted to use that time to become spectacle independent.

We performed bilateral dropless lens surgery using premium lens technology.

One week later:

✓ 6/5 distance vision
✓ N1 near vision
✓ No postoperative drops
✓ One very happy patient

Thank you for your kind words and trust.

Speaking in Istanbul this weekend at the ZEISS EMEA meeting.

My first session explored a perspective few surgeons can offer: life as an AT LISA trifocal patient 2.5 years after surgery in my own eyes.

My second role was moderating a practice development panel examining how modern ophthalmology practices are adapting to changing patient expectations, digital engagement and AI-driven discovery.

The future of ophthalmology will not belong solely to practices with the best technology. It will belong to those able to combine outstanding clinical outcomes, transparency and patient-centred communication at scale.

Grateful to ZEISS for the invitation and to colleagues from across the region for an engaging and thought-provoking meeting.

Speaking today at the Royal College of Ophthalmologists Annual Congress 2026 on premium IOL decision-making in glaucoma patients.

An important discussion around spectacle independence, patient selection, contrast sensitivity, neuroadaptation, and realistic counselling in complex cataract surgery.

Grateful for the opportunity to contribute to the national conversation in ophthalmology and refractive cataract surgery.

Speaking today at the Royal College of Ophthalmologists Annual Congress 2026 on premium IOL decision-making in glaucoma patients.

A nuanced area of cataract and refractive surgery where patient selection, contrast sensitivity, spectacle independence, neuroadaptation, and realistic counselling all matter.

Grateful for the opportunity to contribute to the discussion alongside colleagues from across UK ophthalmology.

“✨ Imagine seeing your child clearly for the first time in 21 years. That’s Sara’s story. Severe myopia kept her world in a blur until Mr. Mfazo Hove implanted advanced ZEISS trifocal lenses at Blue Fin Vision. Now she’s living in crisp HD — even noticing eyelashes and freckles she’d never seen before! We’re grateful to have been a part of this life-changing journey, and to the Daily Mirror for helping share it with the world. Ready to see life with fresh eyes? Honoured to be speaking at the Royal College of Ophthalmologists Annual Congress 2026 this May.

I’ll be presenting during the Glaucoma Subspecialty Day on:

“Premium IOLs for the glaucoma surgeon”

Glaucoma patients often present some of the most nuanced decision-making in cataract and refractive lens surgery. Lens selection in these eyes goes far beyond spectacle independence alone — requiring careful consideration of contrast sensitivity, visual quality, disease severity, patient expectations, future glaucoma management, and long-term outcomes.

Grateful to the Royal College of Ophthalmologists, and to session chairs Wai Siene Ng and Andrew Tatham for the invitation.

Looking forward to sharing practical insights and learning from colleagues across the specialty.

Not wanting to be outdone - 2 full lists in a row- well done Sahana👏. I’m very proud to see the progression to being able to see the patients, choose the extras and do all operations with me as a spectator.

Professor Oliver Findl joined us in Chelmsford this week to observe a live list.

13 cases in an afternoon — but that’s only the visible part.

Real-world surgery:
• white cataracts
• brunescent lenses
• Fuchs + guttata
• anxious patients
• patients who couldn’t lie flat
• and one who needed a gentle reminder not to head for the pearly gates just yet

Because outcomes aren’t about a single surgeon.
They’re about the system around the surgery.

Team. Preparation. Consistency.

Good to reconnect after many years since Moorfields.
