I wasn’t sure if I should go on this trip after my families loss.
It seems unfair at times to be enjoying sea, sunshine and…..distraction.

I’ve asked myself what mourning should really look like?
After 2 weeks being back in London, I was drained. I was asking myself so many questions about life, living, consciousness, spirit.

I decided to go ahead. A last minute decision to continue as planned.

To celebrate life. To find beauty in the pain.

Yes, I’ve cried most days.
And been unable to remove Sue’s last image from my mind.
But I know she would have wanted life to keep moving.

For us to do the things we want to do….
Before it’s too late.
And so I choose to keep moving, growing, exploring, accepting….enjoy all that life offers us.

In true Katie style I’ve been processing our loss through writing.

It’s the only way I know how to make sense of moments like this. Besides, I’m still too choked up to actually speak about losing Sue. My second mother; our gentle, kind soul.

Sadly, the majority of you reading this will know how this feels. Death is an inevitable part of….Life. Part of the grieving process includes the confusion of ‘what next’?

Maybe you can relate.
I’ve been writing about this and will share more in spaces more suitable for lengthier thoughts (my newsletter maybe and conversations with you in real life when we meet).

🌿 What Next? 🌿

And so, what happens now?
When the songs have been sung,
The condolences done.
When the empty seat becomes the norm,
When you’re given space,
After the worst of the storm.

And what happens when you’re asked to explain?
Again and again,
That your shadow is no longer there.
That the table is for one, this time,
and every time.
But it’s fine (you say).

Sending love to anyone moving through loss ❤️
Celebrating the life of a loved one ❤️

The path is the same, but the story is always different.
Goodbye is rarely easy.

Layer upon layer. We evolve.
I’ve walked this path since my birth and here I am once again.

Greeting the Sun in the morning and watching her set behind the hills at night.
The same sun, the same hills.
Me. The same being.
But different.

And as I walk this path today, I hear the wind blowing through the pine trees. As I move along the bend, the wind fades and suddenly, I’m met with silence.
Like the trees, we allow breath to move through us freely, then one day we don’t.

Goodbye Mama Sue.
Your spirit will guide us as we walk this path.
Our second mother. A blessing to have two.
A strong, quiet, humble presence.
We miss you, but you are still here.

The eclipse reminds us that even when things are shadowed, light is always on the other side.

The combination of a Full Moon and a Solar Eclipse offers a unique opportunity for deep reflection and release.

On Friday 28th August (6:45 - 8:00 PM), join me in Blackheath as I support you to sink into an ocean of deep meditation and sound.

Through the medicine of the gong and the guidance of my voice, we will navigate this eclipse and full moon portal together.

✨ Reserve your spot today via the link in bio (Gong Bath Link).
