This client, unfortunately, didn't have the right anatomy for a "standard" navel piercing, so we opted for a "floating navel" instead and we were obsessed with the results!

Lets talk about ✨Dermals ✨

Dermal piercing, also known as dermal anchor piercing or single-point piercing, is a type of body modification where an anchor is placed beneath the surface of the skin, with a decorative piece visible on the skin's surface. Unlike traditional piercings that have entry and exit points, dermal piercings involve a single point of entry.

Pain level: 4/10 Surprisingly, dermals are not as painful as they may seem. Most clients report that they hurt less than a regular piercing performed by a needle. That being said, everyones pain tolerance is different and you should always be ready for a little bit of discomfort.

The tops are interchangeable!! This is something not known by many people, but it’s totally possible to change out the decorative top of your dermal piercing. However, it’s recommended to go to your piercer rather than attempting this yourself, as it may be tricky to unscrew/screw the tops without disturbing the anchor beneath the skin.
