Good morning guys, carrying on from yesterday and the whistleblower…
I don’t even know how to put into words how sick this has made me feel, Not just angry, and not just heartbroken but Sick to my core. Because this isn’t just some whistleblower, It isn’t a headline or a debate is it this is my daughters story , this is my family’s story, and so many of yours too, this is the reality we have lived every single day.
For two years, I watched my daughter slip further and further away while we begged for help. For two years, she missed out on her education while we fought for the support she should never have had to fight for in the first place. We knew she needed an EHCP, we knew she needed the right school placement. Yet we waited, and while we waited, the damage grew, while I was threatened with fines and court, while she couldn’t attend- due to the hell that had been created at her first school the lack of safety there and the damage they had done to her.
I watched her mental health deteriorate before my eyes, I saw the anxiety take over her life. I watched trauma replace the happy, confident child she once was. I watched her begin to believe she was the problem, when in reality she was a child whose needs simply weren’t being met. She wasn’t refusing to cope, she was being failed by a system that should have protected her after she had coped for too long.
The consequences of those delays didn’t end when the paperwork was finally completed. Today, my daughter lives with trauma, she carries emotional scars, and she carries physical scars. There were moments when I genuinely didn’t know if she would survive what she was going through. No parent should ever have to sit beside their child wondering if they will make it through another day because the support they desperately needed came too late.
That is why hearing these allegations has made me feel physically sick and If they are proven to be true, then all I can think about is every family who has spent years questioning themselves, wondering whether they were imagining it, wondering why they had to fight so hard just to secure the support their child was legally entitled to. I think about the parents who were dismissed, the children who were left waiting, and the unimaginable impact those delays have had on so many lives.
Most of all, I think about the children we have lost. Children who should still be here, and the Children whose stories should have ended with support, understanding and hope, not tragedy. Every child matters, Every decision matters and Every delay matters, because behind every case file is a child with dreams, fears and a future that depends on adults doing the right thing.
All the while so many LA’s are failing children on purpose, laughing about it.
LAUGHING ABOUT THE DAMAGE THEY ARE DOING TO OUR CHILDREN’S LIVES!!
My daughter survived, but surviving is not the same as living it’s been hell, She lost two years of her education, She lost her sense of safety, She lost trust in a system that was supposed to protect her and the adults who she was supposed to trust in school, she became suicidal- Those are things no child should ever have to lose.
I will never stop speaking about this. Not because I enjoy conflict, and not because I want someone to blame, but because I have lived the consequences. I have held my daughter while she fell apart. I have watched her fight battles that no child should ever have to fight. I know what happens when support comes too late.
My daughter deserved better. Every child deserves better. Every family deserves better. And I refuse to stay silent while there are still children paying the price for a system that too often asks them to wait when they simply cannot afford to- this is an absolute scandal and a disgrace that makes my stomach twist.
We as a community cannot and should not let this be tolerated or swept under the rug, I am reeling with anger and sadness, I am also determined to seek accountability and answers for this. What an absolutely sick situation this all is.
Appalling in every sense of the word.
