What if the people closest to your autistic loved one could better understand their world?

Our new Autism Family Training Service gives families the opportunity to create a more understanding, supportive environment, built around the unique needs, strengths and experiences of their autistic loved one. 🩵

Together, families can learn, ask questions, gain deeper insight, and feel more confident in supporting the person at the heart of it all. 🤝

We had a fantastic time attending the Selly Oak Neighbourhood Network Scheme’s Fun Activities Taster Day recently at Stirchley Baths.

It was wonderful to meet so many amazing families and connect with other inspiring charities in the community.

Thank you so much for having us, we’re so grateful for the opportunity to be part of such a supportive and welcoming event 💙

No two autistic children experience the world in the same way, and families shouldn’t be expected to support them with one-size-fits-all advice.

Our new bespoke Autism Family Training Service is designed to help immediate and wider family better understand and support their autistic loved one, through relevant training tailored entirely to their individual strengths, needs and lived experience. 🩵

It’s a safe space for families to receive personalised support with their child’s needs at the centre of everything, and somewhere to ask questions, build confidence, reduce misunderstandings, and feel more connected and informed together.🤝

Grandparents, relatives and close family friends are all encouraged to be part of the conversation too. 🧑‍🧑‍🧒‍🧒

Resources for Autism would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Ben Turner for delivering such an inspiring workshop on 24th April.

The session created a welcoming and supportive space for autistic adults to come together, share experiences, and gain valuable insights. Attendees left feeling uplifted, with a renewed sense of optimism and a strong motivation to take positive steps forward.

We’re also grateful to everyone who took part and helped make the session so meaningful. Together, we continue to build connections and create opportunities for growth within our community 💙

What makes a space truly inclusive?🤔

Next Thursday 21st May, on Global Accessibility Awareness Day, join us online for a conversation about creating spaces where accessibility, inclusion, and belonging are part of the foundation - not an afterthought.☝️

Together, we’ll explore how small changes can make a big difference in helping more people feel seen, supported, and able to take part. 💙
