Today is International Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day, a day that holds deep meaning for so many within our fertility community. 🤍

For some, pregnancy and infant loss is a very personal experience. For others, it is a loss carried by someone they love. And for many navigating fertility treatment, it can be another chapter in an already difficult journey.

Tonight at 7pm, candles will be lit around the world as part of the Wave of Light, in honour and remembrance of the babies lost too soon.

For the babies who never got to come home.
For the babies who came home, but couldn’t stay.
For the pregnancies that ended far too soon.
For the babies who are forever loved, remembered and carried in our hearts. 🕊️

Tonight, we invite our patients, families, team and wider community to light a candle in remembrance, and in support of everyone whose life has been touched by pregnancy or infant loss.

If you can, let your candle burn for at least one hour, joining people across the world in creating a continuous Wave of Light. 🕯️

🔬 More advanced doesn’t always mean more effective.

IMSI allows embryologists to examine s***m at very high magnification before selecting a s***m for ICSI. But does that extra level of detail improve the chance of having a baby? 🧬

Current evidence has not shown that IMSI improves live birth rates compared with standard ICSI, including for patients with male-factor infertility.

Could the way s***m is selected make a difference during IVF? 🔬

Advanced s***m selection technologies, such as ZyMot®, can help select s***m with stronger motility and potentially lower levels of DNA fragmentation.

It may be considered for some patients undergoing ICSI, particularly where there is male-factor infertility, elevated s***m DNA fragmentation, previous poor fertilisation or embryo development, or recurrent miscarriage.

While research suggests these techniques can reduce s***m DNA fragmentation, evidence of improved live birth rates remains limited.
