Did you know that “PCOS” doesn’t actually describe the condition accurately? 👀
The term Polycystic O***y Syndrome is being updated to PMOS: Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome, a name that better reflects what patients experience every day.
Because PMOS isn’t just about the ovaries. It’s a complex hormonal and metabolic condition that can affect:
✨ Ovulation and fertility
✨ Insulin resistance
✨ Weight management
✨ Energy levels and fatigue
✨ Long-term heart and metabolic health
At CRGH, we support the shift to PMOS because clearer language improves understanding, diagnosis and care. While the science evolves, our priority stays the same: helping patients feel informed, supported and connected. We’ll use both PMOS and PCOS to keep conversations accurate, accessible and familiar for our patients.
